Interesting simple solution to water proofing under the cover there. Expecting it to leak at the hinge and ramp side but not along the trays length. Bit of spouting both sides job done. Easy inspection and remediation. Does that cover overlap at the ramp end such that he gap does not open in an event- when the building rocks back away from the ramp edge…? Chch womens Hospital building seismic is a hinged steel grate with no overlap and was seen to remain open 300mm after the Feb quake. Thankfully no one fell through😳. Wellington Hosp is similar. Waipapa internal floor covers all have overlaps as does AWLY building street level covers across road from Cant Provintial Chambers

The hinge probably won't allow the pavement slab to drop below horizontal. The gap opens then re-engages with ramp without dropping and jamming on the return movement

Interesting how the base isolators make the building sit on a shake table. Were those isolators retrofitted or they were in the original design?
@PaulG.x Жыл бұрын
retrofit
@kingy0026 ай бұрын
The video said they were retrofitted more than once.

how.much per piece for base isolator? anyone?
@giovannidefrancesco99446 ай бұрын
it depends on the displacement capacity. Those with displacement capcity over a meter, approximately 60 000NZD x isolator!
