This is awesome! Any chance someone wants to explore the calderas of the Taupo Volcanic Zone. Particularly Atiamuri, Mangakino, Whakamaru... maybe something exploring the original path of the Waikato River and how it has shifted 🤔 Hinuera cliffs SH29 and the massive edge of the Taupo rift you can see from SH30 are just fascinating too 🙂

Everybody is talking about models of climate change and tipping points. What nobody talks about is the cumulative effect of multiple tipping points being triggered and how fast will things turn to crap. We are living on a knifes edge with unknown possibilities of how our environment will change.

Now it's much easier to climb, in mountaineering publications it's difficulty rating went from severely difficult to horrendously boring. It's amazing what a difference a few meters makes.

Is it a collapsed lava tube. It could be a flow that the top cooled but continued to flow down slope forming a tube system
@OutThereLearning24 күн бұрын
There is no evidence (such as of a collapsed roof) of it being a tube, but the continuation and draining of the centre of the channel after the sides built up is the right idea
