Even as someone who's in a relationship, I needed to hear this -- I need to ground myself & remember I'm still the main character of my life.

This! I feel like I need to learn how to ground myself and be the main character of my life while in a relationship or it makes all of the growth pointless if I will just forget all the work later on.

Perfectly timed. Not going through this with romance, but with family. I felt guilty for temporarily distancing myself to be able to clear my head and work on myself. I needed to hear this, thanks girlie 💞

Girl. Believe me, november is going to be the magic month. Just before Beginning of September I manifested that Sept is going to be a magic month for me and 3rd sept is when she broke up with me. So to be honest I then told myself, this is the freedom, this is how I can feel myself again and freed myself again. So Believe me November is going to be your healing month, it's the magic month, everything will be super fine, better than what you'd thought

Lynette--thank you so much for opening up about your journey dealing with this breakup. I am in a phase right now where I'm not dating, and even though I miss companionship (who doesn't), I know that deep down, I can't take that on right now. I'm focusing on building a strong emotional and financial foundation, and bringing value into my next relationship is important to me. I want to be secure and confident and add to our dynamic in healthy and positive ways. I do get insecure in my process though, as we live in a world where people are terrified of being alone. So yes, I feel so odd when friends or family ask me if I'm dating or on apps, which makes me second-guess if I'm odd, missing out, wasting time, or gets me into this frenzy of wanting to make time go by faster and get to the "other side." Ultimately, in the end, I know that all good things come with time, and I really needed to hear this reassurance of it being totally fine to take time to be by yourself and work your shit out by YOURSELF. This reminds me that this work is worth it to attract a person and experience where we can support and bring out the best in each other. Thank you, always 🩷 Sending love

As someone who was diagnosed with BPD when I was younger, learning to love myself without the need for external validation has been and still is a hard process. I’ve been single for almost 5 years and only the last few months have I released the need for a relationship and started to embrace and romanticise being alone; I’ve been depressed and life’s been stagnant the last few years even though I’ve done a lot of inner healing from trauma, recently moved to a new town by myself to save money so I can travel cross country solo & work as I go next year. This video was the validation I needed to keep moving forward on my journey. Love and appreciate your videos, it’s like getting words of wisdom from a friend or big sister 🫶🏽

Hi, I’m about to watch this video. Would you say this would apply to someone suffering without their uni friend group? I lost them a year ago and I’ve been stuck in a terrible depression since, it feels like life is no longer worth living without them. I just don’t understand how I feel so much pain without them and they’re all living their lives. Also,I love your video about not taking life too seriously!

@@LynetteAdkinshi, I’m bawling my eyes out- thank you for replying. I’ve just seen the video and it’s so good. I just find the idea of taking time for myself to be mind blowing, because I don’t see the point if I don’t get to share it with the same people. I don’t know how to explain the pain, but it’s like I’m always walking with a dagger in my chest. 18-20 was the happiest period of my life, they changed me. And now I’m 21, I can’t tell you the last time I was happy. The impending doom, the feeling that I’ve ruined my life is hard to get rid of. I just don’t know why I’m taking it so seriously. I’m so sorry for the rant there’s just a lot on my chest. Thank you once again for responding and your video was like a warm hug

I disagree with the deep individualism of this one. "The more attached you are to someone in a relationship, the more of a sign it is that you're centering that person in your life instead of centering yourself." How do you completely sidestep the possibility of actual real connection between human beings, negate the responsibilities we have to each other in our communities and societies, avoid mentioning the very real need we have for connection and for being seen AND the beauty and value of the transformation love, romantic or otherwise, can offer? Mind you, I am not talking about unhealthy codependence. Solitude is safer for you, that's why you argue for 'detachment'. It is love, vulnerability and safe connection this world needs, not detachment.
@LynetteAdkins
@LynetteAdkins Ай бұрын
Ok this is so true, thank you for saying this! Community, connection & love is def what we need. But I do also think it's about balance. Emotional independence & being able to be alone at times is important, so this video is more for people dealing with unhealthy attachments within relationships
