Its called singing the ding. The ding is the top note, and he moving his hand similar to how one would on the rim of a crystal glass filled with water I believe. As a player I haven't quite figured it out yet myself, but it's such a sweet sound. He does this a few of his songs

Originaly it's name is hangdrum, but yes you can call it as handpan or spacedrum...
