Nina Simon has been called a “museum visionary” by Smithsonian Magazine and a Silicon Valley Business Journal “40 under 40” for her audience-centered approach to design. She is the Executive Director of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History, where she led an institutional turnaround based on grassroots community participation. Nina is the best-selling author of The Participatory Museum (2010), The Art of Relevance (2016) and the popular Museum 2.0 blog. Previously, Nina worked as an independent consultant and exhibition designer with over one hundred museums and cultural centers around the world. Nina began her career at the International Spy Museum in Washington, D.C. She lives off the grid in the Santa Cruz mountains with 14 people, 27 chickens, 5 dogs, and 1 zipline.

Why only 577 likes? This and others by Nina Simon are so relevant for Museums and other public services.

Wow, Palo Alto! That is where Michael Hedges wrote the imeasurable song "Aerial Boundaries" Boy I sure hope this video becomes more relevant. A couple of like and some views. Very good advice on being honest with the gift you have and asking yourself, how can I use this to help others. In turn that seed can multiply and bear much fruit. Great presentation.

"Relevant" doesn't mean "lots of likes and views", friend :-)

Nina Simon is called a "museum visionary". So I understand that museums that worked or will work with her, are not interested in polish-american participatory engagement or selling tickets to Poles? I'm suprised that someone who is using polonophobic rhetorics ( accusing polish nation of extermination) can be a role model in cultral managemnt and call themselfs an "advocate for community-driven institutions "? Hypocrisy has so many layers.
