It's real, but it's not a specific position. They don't hire someone to just do that. The video mentions it's usually the team's strength and conditioning coach who does this during the game.

There's rules about people from the sidelines getting on the field, as they can interfere with the game (it's happened plenty of times before, the Steelers coach about tripped up a player on a kickoff because he wasn't paying attention). So these guys grab and yell at players to get them behind the box.

I dig him! He was great at UoM, and he has a similar sense of humor as Marshall Yanda. If he plays anywhere in the ballpark of that (which I assume so, since he was in the Pro Bowl), then he's a winner.
