his apologizing for not being in his kids life , like his father wasnt in his life.. i remember watching an interview about this song.. the singers father wasnt around at all in his life , and he held a hate for his dad . But he also felt like he was a hypocrite being a musician and always touring and on the road away from home and he said he was doing the same thing his father did to him, so he wrote this song to his kid

At the :49 mark, that's my Uncle Terry's barn on N. Madison ave. just north of Anderson. I spent a large chunk of my childhood playing on that farm and in that barn. It was full of pre-WWII cars. Really cool to randomly find it in a music video.

I really do remember waiting for my father to come see me and for us to hang out. To pick me up every once in awhile. I remember waiting for him to give me a call once in a while just to say hi and something, only him saying hi is all I would need. And I come home and he won't be there waiting for me to hug and take me somewhere. Being interested in me is all i want.

This brings me back to Summers sitting in my friends basement and going for walks. Talking about a much simpler world before technology. I know it's a video but the little girl walking herself down the street or looking at the stars. I did that. my friends and I would go to the dug out or in his dads pick up and just drink pop and talk and look at the stars. Nowadays I don't see kids outside as much and if they are they are walking home from school or something. My point is remembering feels like a drug or stepping into another world in my mind. Such warmth and zero stress. This is how we transverse mixed feelings was through music. Great times. Even that blue sky 3:39 looks like blue Skys at the 2003 time. Felt like Time had a filter as nuts as it sounds.
