Thats a lot of nonsense, The strategy for most signings is making profit in future sells. A Guiu for 6mil will turn into a 20mil player within 2yrs. Even if he only has one good loan. A 10mil Datro Fofane is valued at 20-25mil atm. US Owners in generel believe that future transfers will involve much more player trades. The fees going up and up for the top of the foodchain. And with more and more FFP restrictions they believe that players + cash will be the way it goes. KDH is suppossed to replace Gallagher. They want him gone. His worth reprents buying Estevao + Paéz. And both combined reaching wages that Conor could and should demand(approx 150k/week). So you buy a good bench player. For a decent fee and most likey weekly wages below 100k/week. When your upper level of a wage structur is ~150k/week you cant pay that to Conor and have him as a rotation player. You bring down the cost of lower/mid tier level earners. That gives you wiggle room in the future when you need to pay likes of a Cole Palmer or a Caicedo higher wages to keep them around. So overall you have a lower more sustainable wage structur. With outlayers when the team is realy successfull and the club has to pay lots of bonus to the team. Like it or hate it. But business is the bigger site of football these days.

So what you’re telling me is we bought a 25 year old to sit on the bench when we have players like santos who can bench sit perfectly fine? Make it make sense! And even if it’s for the pivot we have enzo caicedo and lavia, all better than drewsbury.

@@JamesAttwood-f3m Conor enters his final year of the contract. Hence why the club keeps the PR he´s for sale for the right amount. Heck there was no report that the club even offered him a new contract/extention so far. All Ornstein reported was that it is possible that the club might offer him a new contract. So KDH can do what Conor does. Cost like half his wages. And doesnt make a fuzz when benched. Assume 150k/week for Conor with a new contract = ~8mil/year. KDH = 75k = ~4mil. 6yr contract KDH earns more then 20mil less. Wow he paided almost for himself. And now you might start to see what kind of business these owners have in mind. Estevao and Paez getting bought for Conors fee. His replacement pays for himself. The so called "extra transfer budget" for wonderkids gets funded by our Academy. Rocket sience i know.
