As a hawks fan I can honestly say that DJ wasn't the problem. He's doing what we brought him to do it's just that him and trae were never meant to play together and they still haven't learned to mesh completely well. Also we were so bad defensively that it was foolish to think one guy could just come in and change all that. We needed more than just defense on the wing, we needed better bigs that could shrink the floor andbring help much faster than clint capela whos been washed up since like last year. To make matters worse, the only trades we make are those that only slightly improve us overall. Here we are in January fighting for a play-in spot and we'll only make a small trade involving future draft picks and role players at the deadline.

A lot of these "advanced stats" are very dependent on your team defense. If Trae can't stay in front of his man all game, Murray has to then be able to switch/help every play. That alone will drop your advanced defensive stats significantly. Murray can't help that he's the only good perimeter defender on that team.

Murray signed an extension super team friendly. And he talked about loyalty when taking the discount. So i doubt Hawks will trade him this season since he did them a favor by signing for much less than what he’s worth. Jalen Johnson is starting to look like Clippers Blake Griffin. He just dunked on Chet the other day. No way I’d trade him for a half year rental of Siakam. Only trade i can see ATL making is a package around Hunter/Griffin/Bufkin for Siakam or Demar. No other player on the team is worth taking a gamble on these players who are FAs next year.

The K.I.S.S. analysis is Murray was an elite defender at point guard. He's 6'5" and long. Defending point guards, being slim at 180 lbs only came into play when guarding larger point guards. Now he's playing shooting guard and he's undersized. Also, *spoiler* Pop is a really good coach.

As a huge Hawks fan, its been tough to see the downfall of our team since Schlenk left as GM. Our front office has serious problems, the owners son doesnt need to be over riding the GM of the team. What is going on? Get this ownership group away from our team, they're burying it into the ground. Thunder came off tough win over Celtics & didn’t arrive at Atlanta hotel till 5:30 AM game day !!!
