I just cancelled my trip to the Canary Islands, and booked a trip to the outer Hebrides instead, no council houses there, and 100% employment, most people have two jobs, fisherman/fireman, builder/postman etc as the population is so scarce so you won't find any work shy grifters up there, giving anyone any ideas about moving, a terraced house in London will buy you a castle, a terraced house in manchester will buy you farm, a terraced house in Sunderland will buy you a terraced house.

the canaries are a good opportunity for remote work if you relate to the local market and europe, as you have great tax breaks as a self-employed worker, and taxes compared to the EU and UK are significantly lower. For the rest they do not offer great opportunities and for socio-cultural level they are low.
