Since I was a lad, tales of the great wolves of Canada, the Yukon and beyond, have captivated me. When I saw my first wolf in 2012, then saw the effects both good and bad that they can have on the environment around them, I knew that there were many encounters and stories to come.

Excited to see you match your skills with the wolf of North America. I live in the state of Idaho we have our share of wolves and have learned much from your dingo trapping videos. What makes them hard to trap in my estimation is many factors. There home range is so large here is often where they don't return to an area for weeks or even longer. They have an uncanny nose and shyness for anything not ordinary. Snow, cold, warm, freezing, thawing, etc. will often leave our traps inoperative at the critical time when the pack moves through. A few guys catch the majority, and anyone that can do it consistently has my respect and attention. I am watching with greatest of interest. I believe you will get a wolf as i noticed that your dingoes can get pretty cagey too. The best of luck to you Clark.

Clarke. Not sure if you have seen the latest episode from meat eater. They were trapping wolves in Canada a I think. They had a set with the traps under the water. Looked clearly visible and I immediately thought there is no way we could set a trap similar for our wild dogs as they would be way to clued on to the fact they could see the trap. What's your thoughts on that. I thought it was a great episode of meat eater just to compare how they trap wolves to how we trap dogs.
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry 11 ай бұрын
Quite often you can catch a dingo by setting a trap in a cattle trough, just laying it on the bottom. However, when you have working dogs in the area, this is where the cattlemen will give them a drink as well so you have to pick your spot, pick your weather etc.

Wow. Would have thought you could save your animals at anytime of year. Does that mean if you were to witness an attack you can't do anything about it because it's not the right season?. Greetings from Uppermurry Victoria. Ok at 7 minutes think i got my answers

It is a problem here in in Canada that we hunt mostly animals for meat and we do not hunt enough predators Some years I was in fly in hunts in the Yukon where I live and within a week we would see at least 25 cow moose and bearly 2 or 3 calfs There was many wolves and bear tracks and when we had a moose killed often the wolves were on it the first night and some other time we had a grizzly on it after a couple of days one year we shot a grizzly by the kill and it's claws were as sharp as cat's claws that means that the bear was carnivore predator full time Thanks for the video
