@The_Blue_Otaku10 күн бұрын
Agreed
@tomaskaila2 күн бұрын
I dunno, I kinda like the idea they had of having Hank Pym be part of the pre-avengers "shield special unit" then branching off to become his own thing. The problem is that Ant-Man came so late into the plot and had so little involvement with the avengers outside of Endgame that we sort of never saw all that potential explored.
@sandwich37702 күн бұрын
@ you have other characters you could’ve had fulfill those roles like the invaders
@smirkyshadow4152Күн бұрын
it was originally planned to have them as founding members, but it was not done for one main reason there was an ant-man movie that was planned to be made before avengers 1, around the same time as the incredible hulk, thor, and captain america, but it got stuck in production hell, so they had to cut ant-man from the avengers movie Then later on they changed directors, and scripts, and that would become the ant-man movie we know now

Avengers were the OG non-team, truly a god damn revolving roster. Stan Lee's run was mediocre and incosistent but when Roy Thomas arrived the book was greatly elevated and kept a relatively decent sales and popularity streak - to this day. Calling them D-listers is such an infuriating misconception that was popularized after Endgame. Of course we have to ignore the 90s like with every possible Marvel title duh. Of course no one gave a shit about Black Knight or Sersi but Cap, Iron Man, Thor, hell even Vision, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver HELL EVEN WASP AND YELLOWJACKED were at best B-listers, not the shitty Z-listers everyone believes were "saved" by Mark Millar and then Joss Whedon and Disney

You know in hind sight reading that bit in Infinity Gauntlet, making the Hulk that small coulda been a worse problem than intended if the writers treated that like how Ant-Man keeps his relative normal size strength at those small heights; like imagine tryna fight action figure sized Hulk and he actually just punches a hole through yah because his fist is so small but still delivers the same amount of power

Nice positive statements about the movie and nice art, but also the central point about the comics is just... blatantly wrong? And this video kind of even points that out? Like yeah the Avengers get taken down by Thanos quickly in this issue but this video also points out that Wolverine and Cyclops get taken down super quickly too, so if getting curb-stomped by Thanos in this fight is the metric we use to judge how cool characters were in the comics that would mean Wolverine and Cyclops aren't popular or cool. For the first several years of Marvel The Avengers were actually way more popular than the X-Men, to the point that Marvel stopped making new X-Men stories entirely. It wasnt until the 1970s that the X-Men began their steady rise to being Marvel's most popular team, and it was only in the 90s that the Avengers' became seen as kind of a B-list team. For all of the 60s-80s the Avengers were the biggest team at Marvel other than the Fantastic Four, and from the 2000s on they regained that popularity with New Avengers and everything that followed. Even at their least popular at the height of X-mania in the 90s they were still a respectable team. Additionally, the 90s decrease in their popularity largely came from not featuring Thor, Cap, or Iron Man as much - these central Avengers were always big at Marvel, maintaining solo books more consistently than almost any other character not named Spider-Man. Did the movie make them more popular to general audiences? Definitely. But these characters and this team were still heavy hitters way before this movie. Also Hawkeye's outfit is silly, but Clint was always great and the fact he wasn't as strong as other Avengers was a consistent element of his character that led to great moments, and Hawkeye was so cool in the 80s that they gave hik his own Avengers team to lead. Again, nice points about the movie and nice art, but the central argument of this video is just blatantly wrong.

I have way more respect for the first two Thor movie than I ever will for ragnarock. And you will never see me watch love & thunder. To me ragnarock was the start of the downfall of the MCU. And back when it first came out I thought I was the crazy one for hating it yet Everyone kept saying how funny and entertaining it was. My problems with it were that it just didn’t feel like Thor, it felt like some clown had taken his place. And the fact that they ripped out parts of the story from planet hulk / world war hunk (one of my favorite comic stories of all time) and turned hulk into a bumbling baby made me so mad.

I don’t like the rewriting of history that the that charters like iron man and cap where unknown until the mcu. As someone who knows a lot of red necks, red necks loved having merch of a character they knew nothing about, and iron man had a tv show before the mcu. People compare there popularity to a Batman or spider man. Batman, Spider man, Superman, Wolverine. Those are S tier characters. Ironman before the mcu. Wasn’t super popular, but was far more recognizable than a hawk eye. Or even a green lantern.
