Thousands of hours of concert footage ... I sincerely believe this may be one of their finest performances.

I've lost track of how many times I've flip flopped on whether I like Scott or Seth best, and that's just in this show alone, which has clean sound. Thanks for posting.

Saw this performance live when I was too young to understand and recognize good musical talent. Nearly 5 years later, they are my favorite band of all time. Took this concert for granted when it happened. Wish I could go back and relive this performance

I was there too. I only new about 2 songs by then but everyone told me to go see them. I was blown away. Easily one of my top 3 shows ever.

This is so great! I think I am personally responsible for 1000 of the views. My favorite part (right now) is Scott singing "I was taken on the outskirts of a dream/ I have been a miner of almost every thing. / I'll stop bustin' stones / I'll have to go back home / Admit that all my diggin' was in vain." Guys, when y'all record this song -- sing it like that!

You could literally sing Parsonsfield's "Let the Mermaids Flirt with Me" to the chord progression of "The Race is On" I mean, yeah, I get it, same key, but the chord progression is pretty much identical. Not meant as a criticism, just an observation.
@alanhawkins42292 жыл бұрын

When I posted a favorable crtitique concerning the Avett Bros in concert I hardly expected to revisit it in three months time. It seems that, I too, must be prepared to go to one of their concerts. I don't think so. However I will comment on the use of the word contrived. All bands, if they are professionals, practice their "act" daily. A high octane band like Avett will be or at least should be concerned that two (any) might knock each other out not the best end to a concert. I saw one of the members counting the beats before dashing to the other side of the stage. Hence my use of the word.
@adamsmith41957 жыл бұрын
What are you rambling about?
@alanhawkins42292 жыл бұрын
Contrived” Will research that reference. Although look at the sea of people. Are they acting contrived?
@grubb910 Жыл бұрын
Was that an apology? I'm definitely missing some context here. I may be wasting my time defending them. But... if you think their performance is contrived, any band preforming any pre-recorded song is contrived. Just because they put choreography into their performance, is not a reason for ridicule. If anything, it is an extra amount of talent and effort that they are willing and able to deliver. Contrived, is not a word that this band deserves to be associated with.

How can a bunch of nerds trying to look cool play such unbelievably cool music. I think I'll miss their concerts. They just look so contrived but judging from the audience they aren't going to miss me any.
@martywyatt97069 жыл бұрын
Fayez Lababedi I am very bias but these guys are anything but contrived. They are genuine in their music and the fame they have earned has not changed them. They still live 10 minutes from where they grew up. I think the energy they play with could be confused with being contrived but I think that energy comes from the passion these guys have. They are still true to who they are and their fans. Look at the songs they recorded early versus a song like "Rejects", a song that came after selling out theaters, arena shows and the late night circuit but it is steeped in their roots. True not all music is for everyone and you are entitled to your opinion but I just disagree with them looking contrived.
@bradyphelps87619 жыл бұрын
+Fayez Lababedi Almost every rock band in history has been "nerds trying to look cool", IMO
@jenc16729 жыл бұрын
+Fayez Lababedi Don't miss this band live! They are as genuine as they come! They have good hearts and come from a very real place. Good family guys, always make time for their fans, and put their names to good causes. The whole package! Can you tell that I adore them? :)
@ohmylauren7 жыл бұрын
I don't even think I understand this comment. You want to stop going to their concerts because they are "nerds" in your eyes? What happened to just enjoying the music? Their live shows are unreal. Nothing fake about this band at all.
@alanhawkins42292 жыл бұрын
Lol Fayez will yiu talk nerdy to me? Starts off slow but then it’s irresistible and a turn yiu on allegorically sneaks up on you and then “ everything and all and anything is good, do whatever we stop? Damn ! Nerdy talk , Whew it’s hot in here Lol and more out loud 🙂
