Why I think your one of the better KZbin channels to watch. You are eager to learn, you don’t act like you are the best mechanic, when you screw up, you call your own bull shit. You don’t hide your mistakes and you want people to tell you if you screwed up so you can make it better. And you can see how you are growing as a mechanic and fabricator.

about the low views in the long videos, although thirty minutes of pleasuring gingium content is awesome, the algorythm doesn't recommend long stuff as often as short stuff; and sometimes, for some people, having a video too long can be frustrating. So although it's not as good, milking that watch time with the 17-min videos while keeping upload frequency might be the best for the channel.

@CNutz974 жыл бұрын
There is a big difference between dynamic load and static load. The dynamic effect has the ability to double the applied load like landing from a jump. That being said, if you divide your static by 2 and ensure you're below that then you would want top stay below 10k lbs for those heim joints, so you're good.

The shims will be ok for now but the best option is to move the lower shock mount inwards, as for the weight 1 triangulated brace bar on each arm will not be significant enough to cause any issues especially if you have properly valved shocks, but I also agree the way your building the car a long travel setup would be best over the extended shock your running now. Also cool wasn't expecting to see my comment in the video

Moving the shock mount out on the control arm would make it have LESS leverage on the tire. I think what's really changed is the radius of the arc that the lower mount travels around is much larger than it was originally, you can see the strut swing in when you go from bumpstop to full droop.
@Ramon.Santiago4 жыл бұрын
For certain parts have you ever considered using the paint steelit? Alot of prerunner type trucks run it on their frame. Handles that pretty well and can even be welded on without grinding off.

Proposition: look on craig or other places for similar shocks you might want, EVEN if they are shot (as long as they're not completely destroyed, bent, mangled) you can rebuild most high end shocks. It's a good way to practice a cheaper option and a good video for you to put out. Most middle entry off road hobby drivers i know do this. Nobody puts crazy Euro into things that you can't sell or do other things with these days.

You need top hats with coaxial spherical mounts, aka pillow block top hats. This allows the damper to swing around at an angle relative to the top hat, but the upper perch is always aligned axially with the damper shaft so it's always seating fully with the spring. 949 Racing makes some really nice ones. No shims needed. Get those shims out of there. That's some sloppy slop.

Powder coat g*n (choose one you like) + any large capacity electric smoke box that hits the temps you need. IF you go on YT and search any number of restoration channels that do Tonka toy trucks, that's what they all use and it works really. And you know it works and that the powder coat is baked because they use pliers to bend various pieces back into their holes and so far, in the 20 30 videos i've binge watched, none of them have stripped the paint off.
