Andrew Gorrie - Only an absolute idiot says he loves war. We don't do it for the love of war. We do it because if we don't somebody else will and they may die in the process. Better us than than someone else. Alas, some day men won't have to fight any more, but in the mean-time, there are those of us (in the UK too) would rather volunteer and put it all on the line than to risk the need for a draft. After all, no matter our national origin, we run the risk of a conscription if there aren't enough volunteers...

18tangles The F-15 has superior wing area, thrust to weight ratio, control surfaces, fuel capacity, The newest variant of F-15 has superior BVR to the Typh, the list goes on. I know you want to think the Typh makes the world turn, but it just doesn't my friend. Perhaps you should give this a read. www.ausairpower.net/Analysis-Typhoon.html I'm not saying the Typhoon is a bad plane, it's just not the god plane, that the European populace thinks it is.
@nowthisis2stupid9 жыл бұрын
18tangles I literally have no Idea what stats you are going off of on the F-15... Did you go off of the F-15E? - The F-15E has a max takeoff weight of 68,000 lbs, twin F110 GE engines producing 29,400 lbs max thrust equates to 58,800 lbs of max thrust. That is a max thrust to weight ratio of 0.865:1 on the F-15E. - The Euro Typh with a max takeoff weight of 51,800 lbs and two EJ200 engines with 20,300 lbs of max thrust comes to 40,460 lbs of thrust totral. That is a max thrust to weight ratio of 0.781:1 for the typhoon. (The same T/W ratio is reflected at cruise as are shown above) - Wing loading on the F-15C (seeing as I could not find a wing load for the E model) is 73.1 lb/ft squared. - Wing loading for the Typhoon comes to 63.9 lb/ft squared. The thing to remember here, is the wing loading is figured solely on wing area itself. Not the plane as a whole. The F-15 is designed to create lift on most surfaces. Example: The IDF F-15C returning to base with only one wing. Not to mention, there are no figures for the F-15e, only the C model. seeing as the F-15e air frame was extended including wing area. Once again, your figures on most other performance characteristics are referring to the C model, not the current F-15e Strike Eagle. Which, by design is a multi-role strike fighter, with the capability to cross over to air superiority. So, after all, they aren't all that different. Also, I'm not sure where you got your figures on range... The F-15 in any configuration has superior range to the Typhoon. It's simple physics, a larger plane holds more fuel.
@andrew196820087 жыл бұрын
heres an easy one for you.the f15 future upgrades are going to be carried out by bae(british).also the typhoon is superior to the f15.typhoon can also shoot with helmet targetting which stuffs the sukhoi fan boys.
