Yeah I remember Rex remarking on it in the clone wars movie novelisation as an internal monologue. Making the organics more like droids and the droids act more organic (the droids had to audibly speak to each other whilst the clones could silently plan their escape)

I remember none of the Supers being really effected though, like the waves of dirt and sand washed away all the human troopers leaving windu alone with the supers that were still there. Always figured that the dirt waves would break bones and hurt humans in armor but leave armored super battle droids relatively undamaged. and even if they did, its much easier and cheaper to replace a battle droid than to replace a clone.

To be absolutely fair, it's not impossible that those machines are some kind of repurposed mining equipment or something, maybe the impact is designed to collapse loose tunnels to make excavation safer, or set off seismic activities before they can interfere with work. But big shoe also works.

2003 Clone Wars with 2008 clone personalities is perfect. The robotic, inhuman way the clones acted in the 2003 show was always disturbing to me, having seen the 2008 version first.

That probably was due to them being presented as more artificial soldiers for the Republic back in this era, it’s clear in the full battle they want your primary focus on Mace Windu. I've always been more of an advocate for the humanised clones we've gotten post 2008 because it shows some deeper perspectives into these identical soldiers now spreading the galaxy, so I’m 100% for seeing some Clone banta fully in 2003's style.

I prefer the 2003 Clones tbh, since it’s more lore accurate towards ATOC (it’s stated that regular Clones were just obedient soldiers), and Expanded Universe/Legends material as a whole (only Arc Troopers have actual will/personality).
