The surviving members of the B52s are still doing great shows. I saw them play London maybe six years ago now. Wonderful! But for all the laid back, cruise through life vibe that Kate and her band mates convey never forget that when they started out these guys would drive from Atlanta to New York every weekend to play CBGBs (about 18 hours each way), probably in a vehicle that was too small and couldn't be fully trusted to make it to the first state line. A lot of determination, hard work and raw talent went into all that laid backness and great music. Thank you guys. Would love to visit lazy Meadows one day.

The B-52's are simply a unique, one-of-a-kind group, would be nearly impossible to replicate it on purpose. Each member of the group brought a unique quality. Not many groups that have that sort of dynamic. Fleetwood Mac perhaps is like this as well, where each member stands on their own yet the whole group together is unique. The B-52's style is certainly all it's own, brought on by each member being themselves.

I feel like the band was solid on the album and the ballads on the album are incredible. Their whimsical and edgy flavor still shows through. Surely it would have done better under different circumstances. This album set up their next one Cosmic Thing which went on to be the most successful commercially. I truly wish Ricky was still with us as his killer guitar and bass would have lead to even more great music. I’m just thankful they stayed together and have toured for so long. @@Dave_Sisson They were almost a completely different band in the early days, though. "Roam" is stylistically much closer to "Love Shack" so that's why I mentioned it.

One sweet lady. Still cute. The voice, so soft and recognisable. Shiny Happy people with REM. And what about Candy with Iggy Pop, I adore that song. Is there more? Any recommandations ??

@Hellwyck - give WalterWhite a credit here. It takes a special kind of a**hole to show up in the middle of the party and start shi**ing all over everybody. I think he deserves applause and let's make sure he gets his medication dosage right this time !

VladR1024 I just ignore guys like that. He’s irrelevant. I’ve actually stayed in Kate’s motel in the Catskills. It’s really cool and in a great area, near the Phoenicia river. I love that area of NY. Many great musicians live up there still including Dr. Know, the guitarist from Bad Brains, he actually works at this great Heath food supermarket on the road between Woodstock and Phoenicia. Also, regarding the song, I’ve always liked the song. It’s fun, campy like all their songs.

Walter White you are obviously the troll. Because I stayed in Kate’s motel in the Phoenicia doesn’t mean I’m friends with her genius. Anyone can stay there and it’s in a great area of the Catskills. Never been to fire island, sounds like you know more about it than me. Yeah, I love Joni Mitchell’s music too. Thanks for adding that. Your last comment was too incomprehensible to reply to, you might want to sort yourself out and actually form an intelligent comment before trolling.

Basically my favorite song of all time. I remember when it was released it was so fun. 20 years ago I worked in an audio equipment rental shop in the back of the Music Store. Every speaker that came and went got tested and it was with "Love Shack" the song was on repeat for years in the test rig. It's a great song for PA system diagnosis. I love the song 😎
