I got to style Cindy's hair in Memphis a couple of weeks ago. She asked what was my favorite song and I told her this one. She seemed alittle surprised but smiled and her face changed and she looked so "extra-beautiful" to me right then.

TheHairobert THIS is the story everyone who has a song that is special to them wishes they had to tell😀❤ Not some obviously embellished yarn about meeting your favorite celebrity and instantly becoming best friends... But a perfectly plausible and relatable incident where you get to experience a very special and personal moment with someone who enriched your life. If I were you, either I would NEVER tell a living soul that this happened...or everyone I know would be sick to death of hearing about it😁

What I love most about this song is that it's not the typical B-52's song that would catch my ear because of it being a mid-tempo song, but everything about is just like...magical. Thought it was lost forever - searched random phrases of guessed lyrics - guessed "Here comes christine" B52 and this came up - this is it! Just worked out the bass line and chords on piano. My long lost love has been found. Very Happy.

I wish they would remaster Satellites. The album was so great though no promotion due to the loss of Ricky. I feel it deserves a second chance. They could perform every song from Wild Planet, Whammy and Bouncing off Satellites!!

My daughter just sent me a picture of a rainbow while she is in Monterrey, CA and it reminded me of the exact day it was played for me. My name is Brenda and it was March 14, 1987. It was played for me by my infatuation on our second date which became her father in 1998. Wish time travel was possible. The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming and there was magic in the air. If I had flowers I would have put them in my hair. Too bad we had to divorce 21 years later. No regrets and love this song.

Its such a pretty song. It always cheers me since the first time i heard it in 1986. The meaning is questionable but i always believed it was about a woman who was either mentally ill or completely high . . ."good friends on the ceiling. How did they get there?". She's looking up at them because she's on her back, completely stoned (?). Brinda was loved and understood and accepted by the song maker. Thanks Cindy.

I listened to this song like 10 times last night ! (got the old cassette tape) I feel this act were SO ahead of their time; this song's style is really epitomal of the early 90's female pop sound; think Cathy Dennis, Betty Boo, Amy Grant, etc. They just MUST have had an influence. This song in particular is just SO BEAUTIFUL. Aesthetically tender and 'aquatic', expressively uplifting and enlightening; pure, wholesome and feel-good. Surely THE BEST SONG OF THE 80'S (if not of all time !).
@bqkmg2037 Жыл бұрын
This was originally female style of alot of 80s songs so it wasn't ahead of its time 80s had it first....alot 90s had it too but copied it from the 80s...not all of 90s music was as great as the 50s thur 80s 90s were a transition decade for music lots of changes 90s to today sounds pretty much the same.
