We finally have this guitar assembled; now I just need to set it up. Unfortunately I've been having some trouble with the assembly footage, so in this video we're going to to take a quick look at the guitar, and more specifically at the really cool bridge it has from Babicz.
In the next view we will cover some of the assembly, setup, and probably a demo. Should be fun!

I just installed the same bridge on my Parker style guitar kit. I love Babicz bridges, solidly built, and top-notch quality..

I absolutely LOVE Babicz bridges! They're functionally great! Railhammer pickups are quite solid, too.

That's a great bridge idea. Gibson should have been using something like that long ago! Sometimes saying "It aint broke so don't fix it" is just a lazy way to not admit being wrong. Always look for a way to improve! Way to go Babicz!

Hey Brad! I only have one Babicz bridge on a Tele here, and it is a very well made piece man, agreed 👍 As they say typically, you get what you pay for 😊 That LP style axe came out beautifully, really nice job!

I was looking up videos of this bridge yesterday. It's similar to a Kahler, which is my favorite. The Kahler also has individual string spacing adjustment by moving the saddles. Have you ever installed a Kahler fixed bridge or temolo? On the Kahler tremolo you can also turn a simple hex screw and turn it into a fixed bridge.

I’ve played one, but I’ve never installed one. That sounds like a great setup. I’m a huge fan of the Ibanez zr bridges, but they’re pretty complicated.

Beautiful guitar and great work as usual man I love seeing all your projects. Quick question what would be the cheapest way to Mill down a guitar body to a specific thickness I'm thinking about making or buying a router sled and using my router or maybe buying a thickness planer but idk when id ever use them again and they're not cheap
@BradAngove
@BradAngove 3 ай бұрын
I did it by building a shallow box that fit the guitar body, and then using two pieces of cheap angle iron with holes in it. I bolted those to the router rather than the plexi glass plate so it would glide over the box edge, essentially making my own sled.

I've had my eye on this bridge for a while. Seems pretty cool. The adjustability is a really intriguing feature. I just don't like the babicz logo on the tailpiece.
@dpdupuis5
@dpdupuis5 3 ай бұрын
You could use your original tail piece if you'd like (assuming you're talking about an LP style guitar)

I've installed a few of those on basses, they're great bridges and the design is great. On a separate note I couldn't seem to focus on anything in the video besides your uncut strings wiggling all over the place lol

Haha yeah, I prefer to set up and tune the first time before trimming the strings.

if you use a kit body or home made without predrilled holes can you mount the tailpiece a little farther back so you dont hit the finish with the allen wrench?
@BradAngove
@BradAngove 3 ай бұрын
Yes, you can mount the stop tail farther back.

The saddles are prettier and apparently much more functional than the standard wedge-shaped saddles. Purty bridge hardware!

I just got a babicz... i have been too scared to put it on. I have the epiphone thunderhorse or a heritage h150. help me choose what to do people :P Ill try to make up my mind checking out the vid XD How does the babicz feel while palm muting?
@BradAngove

These are pretty tough to beat. They’re nice and round:smooth so I would think it will feel nice when palm muting.
