I was ok until they started showing the kids next to their father's pictures.... then it was just tears. 20 years, and it still hurts. God bless those families.

Don't recall the young lady's name, but one of those children was interviewed years ago for a magazine. In the interview she said she had a picture of her daddy holding her older sister as a baby framed in her room. Any time she looked at it, she would pretend it was her he was holding, because she didn't have any pictures with him.

I wish they would also interview the few fathers left behind who had to raise their kids on their own. There wasn't a lot but I saw a story of a flight attendent who was on the plane that went down in Pensylvannia. She was about to retire from flight attending to raise her child full-time and one of her last shifts was on that plane. Her husband was a pilot for another company and he too would have had to raise his child as a single father.

That and I’d be interested to see the men who lost their pregnant partners in 9/11. To lose your SO and your unborn child. That has got to be unimaginably painful. I hope all of these people find peace.

The kids look so cute when they were babies. If only their fathers were alive to see them all grown up. They would be so proud.😭😭😭

I am sitting here watching this in tears....when they did those side-by-side photos of the young adults with their fathers...I lost it. So beautiful, yet so tragic at the same time. It's all in the eyes...you can see the spirit of each of the fathers in their children's eyes. Absolutely incredible.

this was so beautiful and touching. Praise to all of the mothers for being so strong and maintaining throughout it all. I’m sure their pain never goes away but these women definitely showed what the definition of strength is.👏🏼👍🏽

Gosh, I remember that day like yesterday. I was thirty, now 50. I was at work in the morning and we were listening to our favorite morning show on our local rock station and it was going on 9:00 am and they were saying that a plane hit the WTC in NYC and I waited a few minutes and said to my co-worker, “there”s going to be another one, this is terrorism”, and he didn’t believe me, then they announced it. I can still see myself looking at the radio there on a little shelf by the back door and hearing what I just knew and said. I didn’t find out until I got home and was watching it on tv with my dad, that one hit the Pentagon and one went down in PA. I’m up in Canada and hearing this. It makes me feel old to see all these young people that were infants back then, all grown up now, but I am so glad they got the chance.

September 11th is my birthday. So many calls coming in early wishing me a happy birthday. Then the call came.. “turn on the tv.” It’s a poignant day for me.

Remember watching all those babies, to see them carry a piece of their lost parent is incredibly sweet. At the end it is all about love and what we leave behind as a legacy ❤️this 9/11 in the northeast was just like that day, beautiful sunny skies with a hint of cool fall air and tears were shed. Will never forget!!!

These families are amazing, they would all have made their husbands and fathers proud!! I saw a longer clip of Diane sawyer trying to get a photo of them when they were 1y/o last night and there was one little girl that was so adorable she was comforting the babies next to her, And she was a baby herself. They were all crying and she was holding the one on the left of hers hand and rubbing the head of the one on the right. What a sweetheart! I picture her taking after her daddy I helping people in the towers♥️

I remember being at work preparing for my boss to make an announcement of my promotion. Then we found out this happened. At that point, I could have cared less what was going on with me. Time stood still and all I wanted to do was watch the news of ALL the heroes living and who died to save our country from evil.

I was born in 2002 which was the 9/11 school year and the year the class of 2020 was born, and yet i was traumatized by Covid. I was supposed to graduate in 2020 which never happened. So much can happen in a short 20 years
