I just read the whole babysitter series to my daughter again, (she's 12) and it's so much fun! It brings me right back to the nostalgia from my childhood/preteen-hood, and so much fun to enjoy it with my daughter! I wish he would have continued on and made a babysitter 5, and continue Jenny Jeffers story, so the fun thing is I'm writing a number five, to gift to my daughter and read it together! The Jenny Jeffers saga will continue!!

Ok so first when I saw this I swear to God I thought you read the Babysitter Club books 😂 And out of all the Stine I read as a kid I never read the Babysitter or Cheerleader books for whatever reason. This was great!

I read The Babysitter many years ago (1993) when an old girlfriend borrowed it me. Really enjoyed and set me off on a point horror deep dive and eventually proper outright horror. Thanks Alison, even though you don't speak to me anymore 😂

This is strange, I remember this series being part of goosebumps, and I even have two goosebumps books called the babysitter and the babysitter 2, but on the internet I can only find this version (in English) am I crazy or was there a goosebumps book called "the babysitter"?

There is the Attack of the Beastly Babysitter, which was under RL Stine's Give yourself Goosebumps series in the late 90's... But maybe the two got re-released somewhere else under that format?

@horrorgardener i know about attack of the beastly babysitter, but i have two book just called "the babysitter"... they probably released them as part of goosebumps here in Italy, they did this with some other stories too

Hilarious. I've never read them but I want book five to take place in the now and focus on mid-life crisis Jenny Jeffers. Environmental activist trying to save the quarry? Married to the ghost of Mr. Hagen? Asked to babysit her maybe possessed grandkid?

If she was 15 in 1989 that would put her at 48. Babysitting her grandkids would be perfect. But can people even do crank calls now nowadays? What's the equivalent? A Crank Meme?
