I play this heaps - love it - my Diane passed in 2015 after 34 years of enjoying her beautiful company, and raising a lovely family. Was 8 years ago, and cancers a real bast@#@d......and she fought it for 13 years. As for The Bachelors - absolutely a brilliant collaboration of harmonies on multiple tunes. So sad to hear that Con had passed.

As a child my mum, gran and sister and I went to Scarborough every year for our holidays and we booked tickets to see the Batchelors at the Futurist theatre there and they were fantastic! Then one day on the prom I was bouncing a ball and my ball bounced right in the middle of Cons ice cream cone he was eating! He was nice about it especially when we told him how much we had enjoyed the show. He was with one of the Beverly sisters who were also appearing on the show at the time.

One of the best ever recorded. Live music with no studio enhancement. A truly wonderful trio from Ireland who had more talent in their souls than anything that spews out today, and over the last forty years. That,s mainly why I prefer to just read the telephone directory instead of having to put up with the no talents spewing out their CRAP.

@@CCT-kp9rm Actually, you're both wrong...it was written in 1927 for the original silent film of Seventh Heaven. This version was recorded in the 1960s, but the original was 40 years old...it's also started out as a waltz.

@@tonymarcus1827 It was written for a silent film? Well, it says so on Wikipedia and yet...
@tonymarcus18273 жыл бұрын
@@gastion000 There was lots of music written for silent films. Theaters hired musicians (a piano or organ player for the smaller houses, but sometimes full bands for the movie palaces) to play while the film was shown , and the sales of sheet music were still a very big deal. If a movie was a hit, the publisher could sell hundreds of thousands of copies of the music.
