Ive always liked chrome. I think it would really set it apart if it did have it. Especially the grill being able to reflect like in the movie.

MP44 would like a few minutes of your time. Chromed smokestacks, chromed grilles (the real truck mode grille and the faux grille for the robot mode abs), chromed gas tanks (the robot mode boxes that wind up in the truck bed and the truck mode slabs)...just an overall nice time.

The lower side parts of the backpack should be folded on the sides of the robot. That way the backpack is almost invisible when viewed from the front.

I wish they would just bring back plastic windows as the ppl who love closed boxes are the pos who steal the figs & swap it for crap!! Man I can’t wait to get mine I’m kind of glad I’m going to wait till he actually comes out as there shouldn’t be any QC issues esp the feet! But best G1 toon OP ever! The trailer is way better than ER also this is the size prime should have been all along! I love the blast affects & wish we get more as they add to battle scene dios!

4:07 Cost-cutting measure. Both MP44 and Magic Square MSB46 Light of Victory have wheels that fold away (MP44's go completely under the repair drone, Magic Square's only fold down along the sides)...so you can sit it on top of Roller; but the Magic Square can't do that. You could remove it from the armature, but the post and port are bigger than Roller's post for hauling the trailer...so it just ain't connecting. 4:57 Yeah, MP44 absolutely does that as well, and to somewhat ridonkalonkalous effect with multiple configurations. Another thing the SS86-31 drone can't do is the missile launchers. 7:47 Chrome (or rather, vac-metallized plastic) apparently flakes too easily and costs too much for Hasbro's liking. The red part of the Matrix Chamber is the unpaintable plastic that's on the same sprue as the butterfly joints in the shoulders. The gray stripe is correct, it's the counterpart of the silver stripe on the G1 toy. 10:39 The elbow: Ohhhhhh, I will agree with you on THAT failure. MP44 has a single jointed elbow that goes up to about a 135° bend (the way the interior of the elbow is sculpted literally stops the bend at about 135). Magic Square's Light of Victory also has a single jointed elbow that goes to about...maybe 100° or 110°? It's not as much as MP44, but it's definitely more than a 90°. 14:07 ...yeah, I think that they put way more effort into Optimus than Rodimus; maybe I need to get Optimus in hand and see how he holds up over time, but the clip that holds Roddy's backpack together is fragile trash that can and will break. 14:14 Yeah, Magnus is way too big in robit mode, just like MP22. But at least Optimus scales a bit better (he should come up to Magnus's shoulder, this seems like it's in the neighborhood of that...). 21:06 Yes, Rodimus had the storage drawer under his trailer...but they basically copied MP44's homework. Being able to lock Roller down is *GENIUS*, and I have no idea why it took so long for anybody to think of that. 22:03 It's possible, but we just gotta wait and see. Meanwhile, they'll apparently absolutely chow down on the plastic of the storage drawer, as folks have said that's happened to their Rodimus. As far as the price...well... errybody said the same exact thing about Kingdom Rodimus Prime when he came out. They also said that about Legacy Motormaster (and even harsher because of the craptastic "base mode").

They did put a lot of effort into this Prime. It does show. While Chrome is always welcome, I do think the excuses as to why are a bit unfounded. The Grey stripe being grey (or silver) on the G1 version sure, but this is a cartoon color one. Should be white. Nitpicks, really.

G1 roller locks down using the launching mechanism. If you have the centurion pack, that ruler can also lock down in the Earthrise trailer using a 5mm post, but it's pretty shallow

One thing I don’t like about the figure is the transformation. The part where you have to put the head in that empty slot really hurts my fingers because it is REALLY tight. Other than that, this figure is justified for its price point and I would 100% recommend it.

To answer your question on chrome, as good as it looks, its not durable in the long run. If after a few transformations it starts to flake or scratch I'd rather have silver/gold paint.

I’m really enjoying mine, but I really wish the elbows bended farther and the figure had the standard 5 mm ports. Really feel the trailer is half assed, as well. I want the playset features - sculpted but unusable command decks, nothing fits in the drone cockpit (Diaclone reboot pilots included), and as you mentioned no way to extend the drone in trailer mode

@ yes because you got it at discount. The official retail price was $159 across most major retailers and even higher at online stores. After market prices went as high as $300 and averaged around $175 all around. That $99 price tag was a major exception at some stores and highly dependent on availability and not available to the average consumer.

Some good design points on this Prime, but plastic tires will always sux, ..and there should always be at least some metal (it's a robot people) I do like it, and would buy it, if it only had rubber tires. : (

Beautiful figure from the front. Hate the backpack. I feel like they could have minimized its size though. People complained about earth rise having an angled chest, but the cartoon had an angled chest in robot mode and in vehicle modes. I do not like the empty spaces below the elbows and earth rise definitely didn't have that problem. All in all, I'm looking forward to mine

All they really had to do was upscale ER's upper half (since it transforms so cleanly) and add 86's pristine lower half (to keep away from the skirt flaps maybe give it the hips of Seige?).

ya can fix the blast effect with either a heating gun and form it correctly with your finger or just use a hair dryer. it's not really a complain. the only thing you could really complain about optimus would be only his heels. all tho it a a very easy fix. much easier than galvatron's shoulder on the kingdom release.

You can use hot water too for the blast effects. Id prefer the blast effects be more like the MPs in that they are plastic. May be a safety concern though. Im not fixing the heels. Its more work than the payoff. Its not noticeable without mentioning it, and it doesn't effect anything

where did you get the full mp-10 set for 90 dollars cause if you did dude you absolutely stole the figure it retailed at 250 and that was like 2012. hell the newest prime mp release was mp 44 and was like 500. i just want to know where you shop cause id love to get a studio series UM for less than 180?

I pre-ordered Mp-10 from TRU. (Hasbro version) it was under 100. I don't have Mp-44 because of the $450 retail price. I will be getting the Shattered glass version next year. Ultra Magnus was Pre-ordersd as well. Either Amazon or Hasbro Pulse.

Awesome deal wish i could of found that but that was still what 2014 2015 when deluxes were 12 dollars and now they are 25 its sad prices have more than doubled. That same mp10 set would be around 215 today which is far better than mp 44 but still this figure back then would be 50 or 60. I am so disheartened as a collector now.😢
