I really appreciate that they remind us here in this episode that while they opposed our heroes in the Clone Wars the Separatists weren't all bad people, and that both the Separatists and the Republic ultimately lost the war to the newly rising Empire born from the Republic's corpse, in a way. Not even the Separatist capital Raxus was safe from Imperial occupation. And with Sidious issuing a shutdown command to the droid armies, they had no real defences. Many of the Separatists had legitimate grievances with the level of corruption within the Republic senate and just wanted better for their worlds (not counting any of the Separatists who took advantage of being free from Republic law to engage in slavery of course, screw those guys). Of course Sidious, with Dooku's help, used their issues with the corrupt Republic to his advantage. It reminds me of what Bobbie says in The Expanse "I learned that the hardest part of this war is figuring out who the real enemy is."

I like how they show Echo to be the one having the hardest time letting go of the politics of the Clone Wars. He has the hardest time helping a former Separatist senator even though they're no longer on different sides, because of what the Separatist-aligned Techno Union did to him, where he was imprisoned and experimented on, having his mind be used to form plans against the Republic at the end of the war, before he was rescued by the Bad Batch

Raxus appeared twice already In Tales of the Jedi as the planet Dooku went with Windu and later in Clone Wars as the Separatist capital Just so we are clear too the Separatists have no affiliation with the Empire, quite the opposite actually: the Separatists are against the Republic, the Rebels are against the Empire, now the Republic has become the Empire

You have in fact seen Raxus hefore, though not much. The clone wars episode where we meet Padme’s separatist friend, and the Tales of the Jedi episode where Dooku went there on a mission with Windu

Its a small but really cool detail- after the episode w rex now the bad batch is stunning clones instead of killing, they probably realized their clone brothers have zero control of their actions and dont want to kill them for it

1:54 Hurts to see the AT-TE walker stripped of color and used to oppress citizens. Growing up and watching the clones and their vehicles fight against the "bad", an now used to cause harm and terror itself is jarring.

1:57 another example of why the clone wars was never a kids show, no it's the bad bath to show this
