The Bad Batch Episode 8 BREAKDOWN She's Coming Finally

This episode was a mix between a side mission of a side mission and Omega teaching Crosshair to meditate.
Fee gives them some intel on M-Count’s information, and informs them that the Empire has been hiring bounty hunters to capture beings with a high M-Count, so meaning, Jedi or just beings who have a higher midichlorian. The Bad Batch tell her Fennec Shand the bounty hunter would know. Hunter tells her that Fennec was hired by the Kaminoans to capture Omega, and she might know the intel on this M-Count business.
Hunter makes Omega stay with Crosshair, while Wrecker and Hunter go to find Fennec.
Meeting her in a bar, they tell her what they’re looking for, and she hits us with a side mission, if you do this for me, I’ll tell you what you want to know type of deal.
There’s a bounty on a praying mantis, they have to go to a swampy planet to get him, so they do, disable some mines, fight some gators, and bag the bounty.
Crosshair tries to fix his hand by getting it examined by AZ and they deduce that it’s all in his head from the rough experiments they did on him in Tantis. I think they probably mentally broke him and he feels traumatized so he’s always having anxiety now.
So while Wrecker Fennec and Hunter bag the bounty, Crosshair learns meditation from Omega. This will most likely heal him and he’ll have steady aim again.
She learned Jedi meditation from Gungi the Jedi. It makes me wonder if her or crosshair meditating will develop their possible force powers somehow, assuming they have any. Especially considering Omega has blood that connects to Palpatine’s M-Count, or she has M-Count adaptable blood, will she now become stronger in the force? I think it’s leading into that.
Upon the success of the mission, Fennec drops Wrecker and Hunter off at their docking bay, and tells them she’ll be in touch once she gets their information. She blasts off into space and calls who I think is Asajj Ventress, who is a bounty hunter, who is supposed to be dead, but I guess the books in canon don’t matter anymore. Her theme song can be heard during this scene, the same one from the Clone Wars.
In the next episode I think Asajj will probably track the bad batch down and try to capture Omega for the Empire because at the end of the day, that’s a bigger bounty than anything.

In my opinion, the “filler” episodes have only gotten better in this show since the first season. We get character work and world building that has been lacking in a lot of the recent live action projects. Hate all you want on “filler” but it’s hard to deny they often enrich the Star Wars galaxy rather than break established lore or focus on really shallow characters.

When Hunter and Wrecker are on the ship with Fennec Shand, she mentions the Haxion Brood. The Haxion Brood are the bounty hunters that hunted Cal Kestis in both Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - a really cool reference and not the first one in the show; in Season 2 they go to Bracca (the planet that JFO opened on) and we see multiple members of the scrappers guild (with the JFO poncho)

The assassin is a clone of crosshair, Crosshair wont talk about what they were doing to him and the assassin has the same weapon and aim as crosshair. Also that one captured assassin recognized crosshair like he was also an assassin.

They're saying "M-count" because that is the term Omega heard from Nala-Se it adds an aspect of mystery to the subject...plus this is not information clones would be privy to. If they came across a jedi or a knowledgeable force sensitive then they could easily inform the batch...

In healthcare, we use abbreviations often when discussing health information or names for lab values (such as WBCs or white count for white blood cells), etc. To me, dialogue seems more realistic and informal when abbreviations are spoken instead of the actual long-form of the word. Just my take on the m-count thing.

While I’m fairly certain that they won’t try to completely reckon the SW novels, It makes more sense to bring her back since *no offence towards the Novel Fans* but the vast majority of the fans don’t read the novels. So to the majority of the SW Audience she had just disappeared off the face of the SW Canon never to be seen again, so it makes sense to bring her back and if they ever want to give her an official death it would have to be an on-screen death in some sort of TV show or movie form of Star Wars media just so it’ll be something that the masses will see to except..

Idk I think the story is lacking a lot like omega being the culmination of the bad batch just sounds like Ray 2.0. They keep trying to force omega as a character on us and make her the center of the story but it literally doesn’t make sense. I’d be fine with her as a character if they weren’t trying to make her the center of everything for the M-count cause jango wasn’t force sensitive and neither was boba. besides that i just feel like her character is kind of annoying lmao like Ashoka was annoying too but she got humbled and was a well built and balanced character. But We have seen The Bad Batch training Omega in various different things, And we see Her struggle and be not that good at the beginning, but throughout the Series We see Her Get Better and Better.

@@TimDaco look you got an 8 year old girl who’s smarter than everyone and learns everything super fast and has yet to fail or be the cause of a failure or even be humbled like Ahsoka has. Just for comparison Ahsoka was super young and talented but she was overconfident (her flaw) and because of that she got humbled big time several times and people died because of her. She then became an awesome character with the same experience omega is getting. Omega has had 3 seasons and all we know is she’s smarter than most and she learns everything super fast. Often times it’s more like she’s teaching her brother’s more than they’re teaching her. That’s why her character isn’t good, that and they keep throwing her to be the center of everything. I 100% agree she’s better written than Ray but they’re still failing to develop her as a character when she has no flaws or failures. By season 3 of clone wars Ashoka was pretty flushed out but took 7 seasons to be able to stand sort of toe to toe with maul. Mean while omega seems to be bailing out her brother’s left and right and teaching them more than they teach her.

@@shotnuke Well Clone Wars had more time to develop Ahsoka then The Bad Batch has had for Omega. So all things considered for a third Season, I think Her Character has developed well. Not on the level of Ahsoka, but still I think they did a Good Job with Her Character. If You look at Her at the beginning of the first season, She isn't as capable or brave as She is now. Yes, She was more skilled than most but that might be because of Her M Count or how she was Cloned. I think that it seems like She teaches Her Brothers more than they teach Her because 1: She's Technically Older than them and 2: Because The Bad Batch have been Soldiers their whole Lives and their not used to being something else. And I think because Omega never was a soldier, She's able to see things differently. Anyway, That's just My opinion.

Just go rewatch it. Even Dave Filoni did an interview about it and talked about the seasons and how he developed her as a character. So I don’t give omega a pass on this one.

I think the main reason no one’s saying midichlorians is because no one (as in none of the characters in the show) actually knows what the hell a midochlorian is. Sure these clones served with force users but I can’t imagine many of them actually were told about the workings of it. I think the main thing right now is the boys are trying to find out what an M-count is and what omega having a high one means.

He knows he messed up, and he's facing it everyday by trying to make amends while hiding all that beneath a hard shell of fake apathy/detachment. I think the parts with Omega and Crosshair were the best. I really like the character development they're working out between the two, and how Omega's helping to heal Crosshair. I also like the way they're approaching the prospect of her being Force sensitive. While I can never decide if I like Fennec or not, I know she'll come through. LOVED the Assaj Ventress theme at the end though...or maybe Night Sister? I thought Ventress was dead, but I guess we'll see!

Did you read the original Clone Wars comics version of what happened to Quinlan? He was undercover working for Dooku and infiltrating Black Sun or Crimson Dawn crime syndicate but escapes the war at the end with his love, not Ventress, and even her story arc ending is much different in the comics when they are making her a cyborg and Dooku betrays her and she escapes the war also.

I might have a guess of why Ventress is alive. I don't know where I saw this, but supposedly, the Nightsisters were the ones who brought Ventress back. My theory is that Mother Talzin could've been the one, but I'm not too sure about it since she was killed in the comics. That or they might be borrowing an element from Legends, where Ventress died but was brought back from a Force Healing trance.

It is obvious Omega will end up being force sensitive because she is on the M-count list. Why else would she be on the list if not due to high midochlorians in her blood? Ventress will end up recognizing Omegas abilities and will help her develop them by either telling her about the force or by directing her to a Jedi, maybe Gunji maybe someone else.

I don't know if I can see Asajj ever becoming 100% good. An anti-hero, absolutely, but never a true hero like Kenobi or Ahsoka. As for her survival, Kenobi and Vos submerged her in the Water of Life on Dathomir. I don't see any reason that powerful stuff, imbued with the witches' spirits, couldn't heal the damage from Dooku and revive her.

It probably will be Asajj who will come, but it would be cool to have seen a younger Boba. It would make sense, since we know Boba hunted Jedi. This M count business makes it a perfect reason for Boba to start hunting force sensitives/Jedi. Plus seeing Boba interact with the clones and especially his sister Omega, would be a very very cool dynamic. It would shed light on what Boba thinks of the clones as a whole and how it may parallel with Omega’s thoughts. Seeing these two interact would be awesome, in my opinion.

Well if they were saying midiclorians instead of m-count it probably be a lot easier for non imperials to know what they are therefore why they are chasing Omega...just seems like a pretty obvious reason to call it m-count as far as I'm concerned.

Why did the Emperor instruct his fascist idiot clones to destroy all the Jedi when he wanted M count subjects to create his own clone. Also, just use Vader's blood. Or your own. 2/10 is harsh. You realize they write these seasons in multiple act arcs? And we got the end of an act last double feature? So this is the reset into a new act. Thinking you're going to get the same constant signal wave of dynamics ("MYTHOLOGY" misnomer) every episode really shows the brain power going on here.

I agree honestly I think the problem is that the sequels fucked everything up and they’re doing whatever they can’t to make this soup sandwich edible. Probably is they wanna keep add ing soup the sandwich. They wanna make the force female and make these girl characters that are the center for everything but the problem with that is the story is being driven by an objective outside of what Star Wars is. That’s why now when you watch Star Wars you get plot points that don’t make sense. Which I get you’ll never have a story that doesn’t have at least one or a few but now it’s like all we get are plot holes and the more they try to fabricate this to work for the sequels the more holes we get. Say what you will about the prequels but they never did anything against the original trilogy and clone wars even respected that. But the sequel made a point to shit on everything before to become its “own thing” so as a result the stories get jumbled. Hate to see it honestly they could have had a girl character and make it good but this is what we got now.

I still had the hopes that the person Fennec was contacting was Boba as it would be cool to see a younger but more matured Boba Fett who is the ruthless Mercenary not the watered down Book Of Boba version. However not only does Ventress make more sense because we saw her in the trailer and also heard her theme. She is also the perfect Bounty hunter to go to for information on this Mididclorians situation because she’s literally a force user. It just makes more sense tho I still have hopes Boba Shows up. I’m also hopeful the rest of Delta Squad makes an appearance at some point.

I wish there’s a episode with Boba Fett. 1. I want to see Fetts interaction with not only other clones but the Bad Batch. 2. Boba Fetts mentality in his prime was Crosshair when he started working for the Empire, they were both heartless and got the job done I always thought of Boba Fett the Micheal Myers of Star Wars. 3. It would be who would win? Boba Fett was personally trained by his Father and others like Cad or or Clones that have extra features put in their DNA. 4. It would be great to see what Boba Fett is up to after Revenge Of The Sith and hell imagine when Fett started working for Vader and all Vader said that one Jedi you hated so much I cut his arm off and watched him fall…

M-Count makes sense in the fact that the Empire under Palpatine was cold, calculated and scientific in their ideology. The Jedi appreciated Midichlorians and the living force. Also M-Count is a good code name to keep their experiments somewhat secret.

I believe the word “m count” is in place of midi-chlorian, because the emperor is trying to get rid of the memory of the Jedi and the Republic. It wasn’t many years before this. Plus, I don’t think the Empire completely understood that Palpatine was a Sith Lord otherwise they wouldn’t have wanted him because they know sith were evil. Palpatine worked on pleasing the people while gaining power.

There is no way Ventress is handing over Force sensitives to the Empire (she is one of the people they’d be looking for). I can see 1 of 2 scenarios, she is either working with Quinlan to save force sensitives or she is looking for Quinlan…. Maybe Quinlan is being held on Tantiss. I don’t think Palps is donating his blood for testing, so that M-Count blood must be coming from other donors

IMO Omega's blood is like blood transfusion because her blood accepted the m-count blood without degradation, think about blood type O or AB-. I do not think she's force sensitive at all.

Force sensitivity and blood type are not the same thing. The ability to transfer m-count to the recipient without degradation of the m-count is what Palpatine is looking for.@@shotnuke
