Congratulations 🎊 on 10 years, that's fabulous!! Kay, you're doing the right thing working into the tops of each stitch, that's the normal way. Working between the stitches is only done to achieve a certain effect, it creates a more holey fabric. With your crochet pattern, before you start, read through and use an erasable highlighter to mark the repetitions. I use a different colour for say the large shell than the small shell so you can see at a glance. Once you start doing the large and small shells you'll be away and won't need the pattern any more. Don't forget at the end of the round when you slip stitch to join, you slip to the next stitch before chaining up again. Also, make sure that the first stitch you work coming out of a point is indeed the first stitch. It can get hidden and overlooked, especially when doing the large shells. Love your colour choices! I've made dozens of these for my grandies 😊

I remember so well watching you from the very beginning and the first Advent! 10 Years of great content! Always something to look forward to, fabulous patterns, with such detail, and the film making and adventures have been so enjoyable! I have said before but the orchestration and production is worthy of a television event! Wonderful job to both of you!❤❤❤

Kay, I just finished the rainbow ripple blanket yesterday. I used 2 huge skeins of Caron Cakes from deep stash (80 acrylic and 20 wool and then a skein of Knit picks superwash worsted merino.) I did 34 rows and let the yarn do it’s thing. Surprisingly-I don’t notice the jogs. A fun knit, easy to memorize and mostly mindless-fun to watch the colours emerge. The rows get VERY long as you get further along so you need a lot more yarn if you want the same number of stripe rows. Yours is looking great! Enjoy!

Congratulations on 10 years! I just found your podcast last year. I look forward to it every episode. I’ve made the crochet blanket you are working on. I chained a cord to go around the top for a drawstring. I got the idea from someone else. Then when the baby is on the blanket with toys you can pick up baby then pull the drawstring and the toys are contained.

Did you know that there is a dramatised version of the first 6 books of the Shardlake story on Audible? ( 1 credit) I thought it was really good. And also the last book Tombland is also on Audible.

Thanks Dan for another documentary - sent me down a rabbit hole of when firearms arrived in England when you said the dog was shot - well that was earlier than I expected.I visited St Fagin's museum in Wales where they had a full box bed in some Iron Age roundhouses - I questioned the guide about this as it seemed unlikely to me and he said they were contemporary with Roman and Egyptian beds and so likely to exist. Personally, I don't think they would have spent the man hours making a bed. The reconstructed medieval painted church was stunning - you'd love it.
@BakeryBears6 ай бұрын
Sounds amazing! You can find details about the arrival of beds in multiple history books but my recommendation would be How To Be A Tudor by Ruth Goodman
