Levon Helm is the drummer. He lived in Woodstock, NY until he passed. A stretch of Rte. 375 is called Levon Helm Blvd. I call it Levon's Way. Yes, that is Robbie Robertson, and Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, Garth Hudson. I saw them at the Fillmore East twice. Still one of the best band's around. Thanks, and Peace Be!

Great video, love that they were introduced as new recording sensations for the youngsters and seeing Garth Hudson's smile. Gomez covered this song on a tribute album. Great song ❤

Love Garth's smile, Robbie looking good as well. And he is singing harmony, his mike is not turned off.

Formed in Toronto in the late 50's, under the Tutelage of the Late, Great Ronnie Hawkins, The Band was among the first wave of Canadian acts that made it big in the USA. I'd like to think of the (equally) late and great Levon Helms as the "token American" of the group. ; {}

The Last Waltz was 1976 this was 1968. Don Henley of the Eagles drummer/singer Buddy Miles and Karen Carpenter. They're are quite a few singers/drummer's.

Playing this tune on Ed Sullivan to America was hysterical at the time. Drunk singing about his side girlfriend drinking & gambling

Robbie had different looks. At one time in the late sixties, he had a beard and wore granny glasses, by the time of The Last Waltz, he was especially good looking, couldn't take my eyes off him, same with Rick.
