I can't listen to this version very often. My face is filled with tears now, but it's joy. Levon is one of my favorite people. He was everything and he was nothing. All this Robbie hatred is so unjustified. You see comments like "Robbie would be nothing without Levon and Rick" (not I think here but on plenty of Band videos). Well probably yes if you accept that Levon and Rick would be nothing without Robbie - the whole point of a band is that it's more than the sum of its parts. I never heard Robbie say or write a bad word about the others and the first thing he did at HoF induction was to thank them. A musician with an ego - whatever next!

I never understood why Dylan did not stand up for her. She was there to honour him, for God's sake. He missed the opportunity to connect with his audience for once, by saying: '"Come on folks, she's a protest singer like I used to be, give her a chance". Instead he did nothing when they booed her away.
@snowmancometh38472 жыл бұрын
@@gjs9441 This was a very long time ago. So, I'm going by my memory (which sucks). Sinead was booed off closer to the beginning of the night. Kris Kristofferson met her off stage and said something like "Don't let the bastards get to you". I think there's a clip of that, that's been around. Dylan was the last artist to perform, and I don't remember him saying anything about anything. He just played 2 or 4 songs. Of everyone that night, Dylan did the worst Dylan impression. I've seen him numerous times, and he was not "on". He was probably also wasted. As much as Sinead was 100% correct about the Church, she killed her career with the SNL performance. I love her. I saw her every time she played NYC from her first till about 2005 or 2006 at the Beacon Theatre, where she was a shell of her former self.
