Everyone's saying "Just Turn the game Off if it annoys you." Epic **doesn't want** players to turn the game off, otherwise they aren't grinding the battlepass to create FOMO and stuff. From Epic's perspective, it's a smart move, they keep players online more. To them it doesn't matter what players think of the update, if it keeps more players online then they'll keep it in the game, same with crowns to keep you playing after you've already won.

Epic is running a business, and if emotes being used negatively affects retention, then they're gonna circumvent those negative uses.

Not necessarily true. If we were to take a look at the last major controversial update implemented, being the removal of locker rarities, then in now way does that affect the game positively and has received large amounts of negative feedback. Speaking of this update, these emotes weren’t the MAIN factor driving people off the game. They were just an extension to the reason of players dying and losing a game in general. Sorry to say this but that extensive reason applied to ALL emotes, not just these, no matter how “confrontational” they may seem.
