I was a Mormon as a child and I have to say I don't know much about this film. I was taught Native Americans were the descendants of Lamanites and their "red skin" is a curse.

I'm an ex Jehovah's Witness and I am very much looking forward to you covering the Caleb and Sophia series because not only are they pure propaganda for the doctrine, many of the lessons they teach about day to day life are outright dangerous and need to be called out so children can be protected. The amount of time and research you've been doing for years lets me know that it's gonna be worth the wait.

I'm not American and everything I learn about Mormons over the years just answers more and more things about the awful choices of the Twilight franchise (the author was a Mormon) lol

I was raised mormon! Exmo now, but something important to keep in mind is that there are lots of doctrine that have changed and in some cases the church will deny that they were ever part of the doctrine (but if you look up historical records you can find things like Brigham Young promoting the Adam-God doctrine, etc). So there's a lot of stuff in this video that aren't part of current Mormon doctrine but previously were. As far as the dark skinned stuff goes, growing up I was taught black people had dark skin because of the curse of cain, not because of premortal stuff. Now the church denies that ever being doctrine.

In the 1980's when home video rentals were on the rise, there were a lot of low-budget, horror, exploitation and pseudo-documentaries that had the word "BANNED" emblazoned on the covers or "BANNED in Over 40 Countries", etc... to entice customers to rent or buy their video.

So my girlfriend was born and raised Mormon. The planet thing- was definitely something that was taught. She was taught as a kid that she would have her own planet to rule over. It even gave her anxiety because she didn’t want that kind of power.

I got probably the nicest Christian ad before this video. It’s some site called Hallow, the guy started off asking if I’d stay and pray with him even though I’m busy with a video. I humoured the screen man, and afterwards he thanked me and said If I’d like to pray more to visit the site.

I was raised in the LDS church, and I wouldn’t necessarily say I left. I simply just stopped going. I wasn’t treated any different or shunned by members or my family. Maybe it was just the place I was taught at but it mostly was just “be a good and moral person.” While I was still a member I did participate in some temple practices like baptisms for the dead, and even now it doesn’t seem particularly strange. I think a lot of the church’s activities, at least at the individual to community level, comes from a genuine desire to help others. And I won’t deny there are issues historically.
