For anyone else that didnt know you actually can sleep after a concussion, drs only say not too because when youre sleep they cant notice any signs of severe brain damage that'll show after head trauma(Like slurred speech, disorientation, facial slumping etc). But sleeping will not cause any serious harm with a concussion just make sure someone is home with you or in the same area so that when you wake up they can make sure you havent gotten worse. Also I have to state I LOVE that Peach and Ellie are the same color combo its so adorable/

I would definitely say between finishing the bar again, waiting for the results and getting into an accident those are pretty good reasons to feel anxious! Glad you're okay and sorry about your car :/

I totally agree with not having to worry anymore. I have my comps next weekend and I’m so happy it’s finally here so I don’t have to study or feel guilty when I don’t like right now 😩

you’ve gone through a lot in the past week, taking the bar and getting in a wreck by themselves would be enough for some lingering anxiety, but together? I would’ve broken down. don’t be too hard on yourself❤️

Ugh- I cried thru Friday too. 😞 that exam crushed my soul. Then Saturday I attempted to renter the world and realized I wasn’t ready after a close call with a Starbucks barista -🤷🏻♀️ so I gave myself til Monday to get it together. Now- I’m just enjoying my pass/fail innocence. 🙏🏼

Girl, you had a rough couple weeks so it totally makes sense that your anxiety is spiking! One thing I’ve noticed for myself is that the more caffeine I had the more I tended to feel anxious. I’ve cut down to one cup in the morning and sometimes a decaf in the afternoon and feel a lot better. Maybe something to look into into?☺️ I really hope things get better going forward💚

Hey Grace. Sorry to hear about the accident. Those are never thrilling and I’m glad you walked away from it not being physically hurt. Between the studying again and waiting, coming to your own in your profession, new wife, and accident, plus the pandemic is a lot of changes for anyone in a short time. I wouldn’t say force yourself to sleep every time. Obviously if you’re tired than that’s no brainer. But try to create a night routine that helps you to come down mentally, emotionally and physically. Because you’re getting it for a reason(s) so you don’t want to ignore or create avoidance patterns that’s only going to put you further into a trap cycle. You want to create a space that allows you to express and be safe (beyond KZbin) such as: meditation, you will be working out again so that’s good, aromatherapy, massages, journaling/writing, coloring, music, art, talking about what is or has been making you feel some way, go to therapy (either 1:1 or group). (I’m not a licensed therapist (yet) but I’m getting my Master in Social Work in 2 months and I work as a Therapeutic Specialist at Rogers Behavioral Health. Just so you know I work with people with anxiety.)

I also took the February New York exam (first time taking it). It was so much worse than I expected lol. I’ve accepted that I will prob have to re take it in July 🤷🏾♀️

@@sunitaroberts498 focus on learning and memorizing the elements of everything (like elements of negligent infliction of emotional distress, elements of burglary, exceptions to hearsay, etc.) and find a way to study that works for you and stick to it!! I got side tracked by following tips from Reddit and other places and it ended up being unhelpful in the long run. basically memorize memorize memorize!! wasting time on the exam trying to remember elements of stuff while trying to decipher these hard af questions will set you back time wise, so really commit the basics to memory.

i was in a nursing program and i just left bc the program was a disaster, they were loosing their accreditation and the dean just quit...so idk if i still want to pursue nursing or law. how is the job market for lawyers right now? bc thats the one thing holding me back from perusing that...but i have always wanted to pursue law. im just constantly being told there are no jobs or that the field is saturated.

Another reason they say don’t fall asleep if you have a concussion, is they are evaluating your ability to stay conscious. If you are unable to remain awake, that is a symptom.

There’s actually updated research that says it’s fine to fall asleep after a head injury/concussion!! It’s just your brain’s way of saying it needs rest and isn’t actually harmful
