Larry Dodson is the lead singer, back in he day they called him “ the black Mick Jagger”( flamboyant lead singer of the rock group The Rolling Stones” ) , The Bar-Kay’s are legendary in Funk & R&B , many hits over the late 60’s to the 90’s and beyond… and they are from my city Memphis!

When I was really young I remember riding the bus downtown with my older brothers and sisters to buy 45's at Satellite records. We'd see the Stax artists hanging out in there between sessions and they'd get pretty excited. Later in my teens my brother lived in Midtown behind Hueys and he'd take me to the Overton Park bandshell for weekend afternoon jams with Memphis elite artists, I didnt really appreciate it as much as I should have.

This is the second incarnation of this band. Only two original members because the rest were killed in the same plane crash that killed Otis Redding. Great song and love your reaction! BTW,you are so,so cute!!!!

Surely you mean that this is the second incarnation, not "carnation", of this band .

Nice reaction. Alot of early Hip Hop dj''s( GM flash, DJ jazzy Jay etc) would buy 2 copies of this record and extend the breakdown. The bar Kays have alot of great albums.

I'm sorry but your reaction is to half the song...that's no good, as you can not experience the full effects by only playing half the song.
