Godzilla Minis One wasn’t snubbed there it just wasn’t eligible. Countries pick one film to submit for that category and Japan chose Perfect Days which got nominated

I do love how everyone is saying that Greta and Margot didn't get nominated. Except . . . THEY DID! In fact, Greta got two! One for writing the movie and one for producing it, as did Margot, because they got a Best Picture nomination! Which is the biggest award of the show! So, yeah, what is the problem here? 🙄

I think you're right about this being a "white woman/white feminism" issue. However, the insistence that the Oscars don't matter is curious to me because...you're talking about it. Everyone is. Clearly, there's a desire to have some sort of "objective" measure of a year in film and as much as people plug their ears and pretend they don't care about the Oscars, here we are...AGAIN....talking about the Oscars. I think it'd be more helpful if people just admitted, yes, we do care about them. Yes, they are the most prestigious awards, and as a film lover, even with their flaws, that's a good thing.

The Barbie Oscar snub PROVES that the Patriarchy is still alive and well. It shows that we still need a lot of work and progress before women are REALLY equal to men. This is why Lucasfilm needs to produce the Rey trilogy, and Amazon needs to continue with The Rings of Power. 🤪 And maybe someday we'll FINALLY have a movie that features a female action hero.
