@@VersusARCH This version of the Baron and the architecture of Gedi Prime is much more to my liking as well. Sadly Frank Herbert was consulted on the original Dune movie and allegedly gave his blessing to the look of Gedi Prime, though I am not sure if he approved of the portrayal of the baron.

Another Lynch thing that has crept into the current Dune movie. I don't get why these directors imagine that the explicitly decadent Harkonnens would live in such austere surroundings. It's not like they rule by claiming solidarity with the working class.

If I remember right, the book does not show much of Fenring's abilities. We know he's close to the Emperor, we know is a capable assassin and it's only at the very end that Paul recognizes in him a failed Kwisatz Haderach.

The Bene Gesserit themselves largely disregarded Fenring because he was a genetic eunuch and thus could not be used to further the breeding program. But I also wonder about Feyd. Their plan anticipated that he would father than Kwisatz Haderach. So shouldn't he have exhibited at least some of the expected abilities given that he had to be carrying most of the necessary genes? Likewise the Baron (Jessica's father) and Rabban.

I feel like Princess Irulan "my hat is from solyndra" Corrino may actually desire Feyd a little bit here. It's very subtle but I just feel like there's a small bit of attraction to him from her in this scene. The sort of attraction a woman of her status would probably never even admit, but still.

She literally seduces him later because she wants to know what happened on Arrakis (I think part of Lady Fenring 's role was given to Irulan). That scene was so cringe and inaccurate. And I though this version is the most book accurate, because almost everyone said this.

I actually really like them. There's allot of deep meaning in some of them, for example the harkonnens often wear very robe like cloths, which shows their laziness and content for letting other people do things for them, while the atreides always wear very neat, but sophisticated uniforms, showing their rich taste for culture and personality. Then we have the costumes that Irulan wears, which are usually superficial and girly in theme, which is a stark contrast to her character, showing that her freedom of expression is suppressed living in the corrino house. The list goes on.
