Jennifer and Rodney Barrett were once chicken farmers and cattle ranchers. Now they're in the process of converting their barns to grow mushrooms. Watch their touching story to see what prompted the switch.

Grew up on a small chicken farm in MD that my parents shut down in the 80’s. I turned vegan in 1979 at age 8 …it was straight up Silence Of The Lambs when catch crews came in. Traumatic af! Chicken barns have been used for storage and workshop space ever since. I have one left on the property and found this video in a search for ideas on converting the old barn into a greenhouse.

God bless yall the biggest thing is now is we need to stop marketing vegan and vegetarian foods as things like beyond Burger or cauliflower nuggets we need to call him what they are and they're delicious as it is but I would much rather have a vegetarian diet vegan diet than to consume animal products I don't feel well after I eat them but you're right and you said it that is mostly what is available on the grocery stores and when I went vegan for a time which I plan on doing again it was depressing because I had very little to choose from so thank you from the bottom of my heart thank you for helping

They do not need manure. They just need ansubstrate such as wood or grain to grow on.
