The Bartini Beriev VVA 14

The VVA-14 is an experimental Soviet apparatus designed by Robert Bartini, a Soviet aircraft designer of Italian origin. It was created as an apparatus having the ability to take off and land on the water and as an ordinary aircraft, and as an aircraft of vertical takeoff and landing.

Wow! Incredible and yet sad to see this magnificent piece of art in real life sit and rot away like this.I would give anything to be able to see all of these awesome aircraft in person.I hope these people take advantage of this extraordinary aircraft heaven.I know many others and myself would love that opportunity.

Great video - I wish to share some good news!! I volunteer at this air museum and plans are on the way to restore VVA-14 back together in the near future. We will also be repainting all the aircraft back to the prime. Tu-104, IL-18 and Tu-114 as well as Tu-144 are being worked on around the clock to get all the electronics and interior up to spec. In winter it is difficult due to corrosion and well just plain weather - most of the aircraft we must brush off the snow so they do not get damaged by weight or in some instances of tilting backwards. In the past the issue was vandalism, lack of security and spare change - now donations are greatly appreciated, vandalism has nearly stopped all together thanks to tightened security and only thing that is really needed is volunteers. I typically show up on a weekly basis and can say first hand starting to see some good results. Let's keep it rolling :)
