Hey thanks so much for running this series together. This is exactly what I have needed. I am working hard to learn to animate with Dreams but have a number of problems I haven't been able to solve. First - I want a waiter to carry an order to a customer's table and serve the food from the tray to the table. I have tried many times to use invisibility to show and hide items in different locations at different times but cannot get the changes to flow smoothly. How do you move items from one puppet to another (or at least make it look like thats what has been done). I'm so excited to watch this series.

Very useful as always. I come from the animation field and I am impressed to see the amazing 3d animations is possible to do in Dreams. What I am struggling a little are facial animations, I hope you can do a tutorial in the future! Also I still didn't get how to custom walking animations of playable characters lol Ps About animated 3d grass, maybe I found out an efficient way. I made a sample on my channel and I'd like to have your opinion about it! A guy asked me about it and I told him to check out your channel because all I can do in Dreams I've learned from you and Martin Nebelong!

I have a Bachelor's degree in computer animation (using Maya) but have always been frustrated by how hard it is to refine the motion I want with Maya (or Dreams). I became a character rigger to try solving some of those problems but always daydream about a more intuitive character animation rig. I've been unsuccessful in trying various Dreams rig controls using overlapping keys to mix and match motions or look-at or folowers on puppet arms with tags in the environment. I would love to see any advanced puppet animation and character rigging others have done in Dreams.

Cool to see an animator at work--I didn't know he made the spiderman video! I already follow Chris so it's cool to see him here. Are you going to appear in a video on his channel too? :D Not sure why it was said that IK is more expensive. In what way? How was that tested? Also, "easier" is pretty subjective and depends on the context.

Oh yeah it's lovely to learn about animation from Chris he's amazing :) and we have quite some stuff planned, definitely possible that I will also show up on his channel :D that's something you will need to ask him^^
@chrisanimates993 жыл бұрын
Hey man! Thanks for watching! And I was told a long while ago by a several people that animating with IK can cause the thermo to rise quicker because it creates more invisible wires. I didn’t know if it was tested though. Also, you’re right! I should’ve reworded that and said it was easier for me to animate that way, and to get the same outcome... to animate with FK 😄

Can you mix possession animation with normal key frames in between? I think it'd be cool to have a tutorial where a character says "follow me" and shows the player different moves they can do, while also waiting for them and reacting to different scripted events.
@kingdanett40433 жыл бұрын
So I was thinking of doing something similar to Uncharted where the player slows down and the 3rd person camera zooms into a specific event that's happening like focusing on a boss appearing but it's still following the character. How would you do that?
@baddreams38503 жыл бұрын
Can't believe I missed this! I am extremely desperate to figure out how to move the puppet in space while the animation plays. Eg. Create a jump and roll animation and have the puppet jump forward while still aiming it with the thumbstick

I'm new to dreams I've had it for about a month, at first I was just playing games but now I'm going to create my own level. I had a question do you know why I'm struggling with controlling the objects I cant move them around that good it takes me a while to place an object where it needs to be. I feel like the controls arent fluid when I try to move them up or down or to the side it's kind of a struggle and idk why.
@SakkusMind3 жыл бұрын
Welcome to Dreams! Haha don't worry that's the most normal thing ever, everyone needs time to get into and get used to the controls! I highly recommend moving around with the grabcam a lot (holding R1 on the object in focus) can also highly recommend my top 10 beginner tips and tricks video that should help too!

@@SakkusMind :) Thanks. Say I have a request. You see I don't currently have access to getting a message to Media Molecule & was hoping you could get a message to them for me, Through Twitter, email, or even make video about it & post it on You Tube. here is message..... Hi :) I have some important info about improvements that needs to be made in Dreams. Improvement 1: When a player goes to delete a creation they made, it automatically wants to delete all creations that creation is in, this is HORRIBLE. Player needs to be able to un-select that which they don't want deleted so it only deletes desired selection. Improvement 2: When player creates object and then saves it as an individual sculpture, The game needs to NOT keep that individual sculpt linked to anything else in area the sculpt was originally created in, as is it does and this is bad, it makes it so if player ever deletes the area the sculpture was originally created in, the game will force you to delete the sculpture that is sitting in it's own save. Improvement 3: Players need to be able to create and save a collection (Not to be confused with other saved collections function) of there own starting setup areas. You know how when a player clicks on create new sculpture and it brings the player into an area to create things in, and all there is to start is a little peach floor. Well instead of this a player could have an area they have created and then saved as startup area for creating. Example: Lets say a player creates an area that looks like a science lab and then they not only save the creation itself, but they also have the option to save it as a starting area for each time they select create new sculpture. P.S. I LOVE DREAMS Well done MM :)
