I like how you put in the effort to show the entire drawing process right from scratch. Explaining the different tones and highlights are commonly explained in videos from other artists but actually drawing it out right from scratch, explaining what tools you use at different points as well as your thought process throughout the drawing, is what makes you unique. Keep it up thanks for the tutorial :)

Hey Tyler! Thank you for this fine upload. I really liked how you started up with a rough draft of the apple, pointed out how to polish it and actually did the second version of the apple. Way to go! You scored 10 out of 10 for presentation. In regards to the technical(drawing) features I cannot really judge or give you feedback but I must say that I find them very helpful and motivational. Cheers!

Thanks so much for this video! I am a complete beginner at this and loved seeing the way the tools are used, but especially the stages, corrections, erasures, blending, etc. Like David I thought of some of these things as failures and gave up on a drawing without realizing they were important steps in its development and nothing to panic over. Your emphasis on blending without blending too much is a revelation! Someplace I got the idea one only draw with pencils!

Thanks a lot Tyler, this vid is just what i asked you to do. People only watch your videos to learn something and you are doing a fantastic job. Can you do a vid of you polishing/finishing up the apple. Make the vid as long as you like i will sit and watch it. To me Highlights Midtones and Shadows are the hardest thing to master, so keep the vids coming.

Best video. Thank you! This is how I seem to learn best by watching real time vids that explain what pencil and why, where the mid/high/shadow tones are, etc.. Took me about twice as much time as the video because I would stop and work at something or review something. My outcome isn't the best but that doesn't matter because I learned so much. I could watch 100 of these with birds or anything really.

Thank you, Tyler, for a wonderful video. I'm just starting out in drawing, and this demonstration was a real eye-opener. You shared your thought process as well as the actual physical drawing. The B&W photo was very helpful as well as the drawing with the shadows, etc all marked. It was helpful also to see how you could still change things you didn't think were quite right. It gives me courage to try this as changes can always be made. I hope to see more of your videos!

I love doing the real time videos but I also consider the amount of time that it takes for me to make something in real time. This is why I split up my real time series into 8 videos. Each part being around 20-40 minutes of drawing. This is a pretty good idea though and I think making a polishing video would be pretty useful to those who are looking for that little bit of extra help. Ill definitely keep it in mind!

It is just the way I have always sort of sketched. Honestly, drawing the initial form is the hardest part for me. I still have a difficult time with it. After I get the forms down and some sort of overall tone is where I start to really take control of the drawing. Also, I am mostly self taught and have yet to still master the more simple techniques of drawing which you may have learned early on. I still try my best though haha.

Excellent video. Why? 1. you talked slowly 2. you spoke English. 3. you did not block your drawing actions with your hand (hate that). 4. your teaching pts were progressive and cumulative. 5. you were not condescending to viewer 6. you obviously had an agenda (not random like some vids) 7. closeups were timely 8. video resolution is excellent. Enough for now .... robert
