Shading | 3 Tips on How to Shade!

Wondering how to shade and where to start? In this video I narrowed down three very useful shading tips that serve as a basis to shading techniques! I walk you guys through some examples and tutorials to show how my favorite essential basics when it comes to shading. These tips are great for all levels so feel free to try them out. You can also apply these tips to more complex drawings. Shading basic forms is super satisfying and are great practice whether you are a beginner or advanced. Hey, I have my art high school entrance exam tomorrow. I watched many videos of others drawing still life and learning the shades and tones as much as I could, even after 4 years of learning art in middle school. This art high school will pick out 16 students based on the exam, to teach them further. If I get into this high school, I will be extremely happy, and I am confident I will.. I know I can do it. I will be moving out and living with my brother in college in another city where this school is. Changing the distance I hold my pencil from the tip changes a lot, shading is hard for me because I always hold my pencil too close to the tip, this has been very helpful, you’ve got a like!
