What riflescope should I buy?
This is a common question found at least weekly in long-range shooting forums from people just getting into the spot.
We can’t speak to any one brand because there are a ton of great ones that vary based on budget and quality requirements. There are, however, a few important features of scopes that we think are necessary for your adventures in long-range shooting. As mentioned in the video, there are a lot of “entry-level” scopes that have all of these features but don’t cost a ton of money. As you go up in price, glass clarity and “build quality” increase but even the “budget” options will get you a long way.
In this video we cover important features to look for like:
Objective and Ocular Lenses
Exposed(tactical style) turrets for elevation, windage, and parallax adjustment
Setting your diopter to focus your reticle
Using a zero stop
Second focal plane vs first focal plane (SFP vs FFP)
Mils (MRAD) vs MOA
