you have no idea how happy i was when the sweet potato scene appear 😂 when i was a kid, i would always sit on balcony at autumn season waiting for the sweet potato man pass by ❤ it’s a delicacy (for me) and it’s sad how compare to before, there’s barely any more cart on street nowdays 😢 as for theories, it’s common(?) in many lore when a curse is broken or lift up, those who are involved in it would lost their memories about the situation, other people who’s involved or the entire thing my grandma said people’s memory are the strongest thing of all so the more we remember the more it is alive (whatever it is) and the more we forget, the more it will disappear i hope this make sense 😖💦 i’m not good explaining in english 🙏🏻
@Kiss_My_Aspergers2 жыл бұрын
I think you're being pretty clear. Your English is also pretty darn good! Sometimes I see people - whose ONLY language is English - leave comments with spelling *so* bad, or grammar *so* confusing, that I can't understand what they're saying at all! So you shouldn't worry at all. You are perfectly capable! 👍 *Homework for anyone still confused, anyway:* The game _Fatal Frame III: The Tormented_ and the whole _Corpse Party_ series both use these ideas HEAVILY in their respective plots, and go into more detail on the concept while still remaining concise. They also recently released the best/most up-to-date version of the first _Corpse Party_ game on Steam (not the first one ever, but the remake that essentially "replaced" it in a way - while also leaving room for the very first version of the story to still technically be canon). FF3 might be harder (and more expensive) to get, so I recommend either watching a Let's Play/stream/in-depth video on the game instead, or emulating it... Realistically speaking. Unless you have extra dough to throw around and you're not too insanely busy making that dough to be able to play when the game (and possibly console) shows up at your door, I guess. 🤷

Funnily enough, I was once mistaken for a ghost in a japanese bathouse, and when asked why the little girl thought I was a ghost it was because I'm "incredibly pale" (I'm white with celtic heritage, so I'm the pastiest of the pastiest). Her mum was really apologetic but I actually thought it was kind of sweet, the little girl was more interested than scared of the ghost, so I just went along with it as a friendly ghost. I went back a few days later and half way through my session the little girl came through the door, and when she saw me she was so excited that the ""ghost had come back". This was 5 years ago, and I wonder if the little girl waited for the ghost to come back.

I wonder how they would have used a curse on Erena to make her think she had a sister, when they appear to have had to have drawn Yoko and Meina to the town the old fashioned way? I wonder if it could be a case similar to other Japanese Horror games, where dying in a closed space/'cursed' otherworld causes others to forget your existence to some degree? Something similar to what happens in Corpse Party, basically.

Most people theorized that the protagonist forgetting her sister was most likely one of those supernatural tropes in which the existence of the deceased is wiped away from everyone's memories due to ghostly influences. One take I've heard is that Maina may have been real and was Erena's sister, but she erased herself from Erena's memory to spare her the pain of losing her and keep her from coming back to the bath house in the future. The video didn't say it in so many words but, just because the Monk is dead doesn't mean that Yoko isn't still haunting that area. The other video also guessed that everyone in the village is a ghost, but this video went a step further by saying proof of this could be how NPC's vanish and how their eyes are not visible. Cool stuff.
@BILLCIPHER8 Жыл бұрын
I think i realized something. If eight months had went by after Yoko's death. That means Yoko's son should still be just a baby. But he is somehow a adult down in the underground place. Also the Monk said "I thought I killed her before she gave birth..." So I think Yoko died and THEN gave birth to her son. So Yoko's son isn't a human but a ghost. A Sankai. (I am not sure if I am completely correct so forgive and correct me for anything I did wrong) A Sankai is a ghostly child that didn't get the proper care during birth. And a description is that they are very hairy and sometimes resemble a turtle or a cattle. Yoko's son definitely didn't look human, and he did have a lot of hair (this could've been because the Monk wasn't properly caring for him though) The son being a Sankai also explains why he is a adult while only being eight months old, because he isn't human and wouldn't age like a normal baby would. But that's just my theory! I hope I didn't get anything wrong!

Imagine moving in to your new apartment and immediately getting insulted by the landlord. Especially after seeing the condition of the room. I would like to point out that some of the customers that you meet do have visible faces, perhaps they're also people not involved in the curse that were unfortunate enough to find the bathhouse? The police said that the village is supposedly abandoned, but some people still found the bathhouse open anyway. I'm just speculating here since as you said, the people with their faces hidden could be ghosts. Maybe Maina and Erena weren't the only ones lured in by the ghost village.

Chilla's Art is great partially because of their laziness. I feel like every time they get to a certain point in making a game they realize that they didn't plan things out very well and ended up with jank, plot holes and generally confusing storytelling but realizing that it'd take too long to fix they just put out whatever they made and start working on a new game instead. That's just a theory and I'm half joking but it does lend itself to the weird almost stream of consciousness feel present in all of their work. The constant shameless Chilla references like the religion and coffee shop are funny too, it makes it feel like some sort of alternate universe.
