Hey Boba, love your channel and this was a great vid. My take on Robin in this universe is that they should bypass Dick Grayson and go straight to Jason Todd. His more brash nature and tortured soul mirrors this Batman and plays better in his Gotham. Battinson learned at the end of the first film that he needs to be more than vengeance, but a symbol of hope. He saw how being a begotten orphan affected Nashton. Bruce taking in a troubled adolescent orphan, trying to make penance for the sins of his father and avoid a repeat of the Riddler’s reign of terror makes perfect thematic sense. It would also be amazing to see a live action Death in the Family adaptation with Barry Keoghan’s Joker in the 3rd film (or down the line if we’re lucky enough for more). My head cannon is that as Bruce aged he put on muscle mass to overcome slowing down so that by like late 30s / early 40s hes jacked to the gills and using more brute force. They could do a young Robin if Bruce keeps him out of the field for the first year or something.

I think the Batsuit looks incredible as it is. The most believable iteration of the suit in cinema, with the most mobility. Adding a few more gadets might be cool, but overall, the look is terrific; it's both modern tactical, and a throwback to 40s noir in silhouette at the same time. A perfect combo for this character IMO.

For me Joker and Harley is more film worthy than TV show worthy. Obviously in a tv show you could literally give it an episode of 40 minutes and use all off that time to tell that story but you could give them stories in a good 30 minutes of a film that is 2+ hours long

#ComeAsYouAre Here's an idea for how to do some fantastical villains in the coming sequels it has to do with Scarecrow. When Batman gets gassed by the fear toxin he will see hallucinations of let's say a huge bat creature that could be a Man-Bat reference and can be a great action scene but it's not real just a nightmare. The fear hallucinations could also be a chance to have a real version of batman ego aswell. Lots of potential to do any fantastical villains and can be explained away as it's not actually real. Lmk what you think boba love the vids !

Hey boba, after the batman came out I found your sequel discussion series and have been hooked since. I think that they really should include more fantastical elements but as long as it works in the story that is being told. The Batman did not seem to be like the nolan movies where it tried to lean too heavy into realism so they can easily make it a more comic booky/fantastical world. But if they do that they need to make sure they have a good reason. Like if killer croc were to be in the batman sequel (which I think he should be as like a side villain) they should have killer croc serve the story and batmans character arc. Like maybe a sub plot could be how after the riddler, crime in gotham is starting to be more around super villains rather than just generic mobsters, and this is difficult for batman to keep up with because he has never faced these type of threats that are more physically challenging. Something like that where they actually serve a purpose in this world. #ComeAsYouAre

I feel that the new Joker is great, just as the Zodiac inspired Joker is great. I think the Arkham series would be a perfect place to introduce Harleen as the Joker's psychiatrist and see how he manipulates her into being Harley. The way its supposed to be and not just a throw away Joker convinces her into the same vat of acid e had fallen into, which was lazy and poor.

I kinda wanna see Batman's hand-to-hand skills improve with each movie. He was somewhat sloppy/brutal due to anger and just being worn down in that first movie. With each movie, have his fighting technique improve so he's not having as much trouble with canon fodder enemies. Could coincide with suit changes where he uses a lighter suit to increase his speed

Love your takes Boba, though I admit it’s starting to feel like we’re cycling through versions of the same questions over and over again. Here’s a question I don’t think I’ve heard: how big do you imagine this Batverse might get? I have no trouble imagining a large, interconnected cinematic universe growing out of this for more than a decade to come. Perhaps a better question: what spin-offs or storylines would you most want them to make? Just in the relatively near future, I would love a Catwoman solo movie or series to continue her journey into the iconic Robin-Hood figure, picking up where The Batman left her, and a Year One series focused on the troubled personal life of Jim Gordon and the gradual development of his partnership with the Batman as he’s just starting out. That second one in particular I would love, his story is absolutely incredible and I feel Gordon always gets sidelined and reduced to the sidekick in the Batman movies, and I would love to see Jeffery Wright’s version of the character battling amidst an overwhelmingly corrupt police force as his family falls apart, and we could see how he and Batman came to see each other as such valuable and trusted allies. I’d even say I need that storyline on the screen with all the time devoted to Gordon, he deserves it. Anyway, how would you feel about those ideas, and what else would you like to see as spin-offs continue in the future?

Bruce could find a kid that's surviving on his own and with every other place sunken he takes him in and at first avoid each other because Bruce doesn't know how to interact with him but eventually tries to bond with him the only way he knows how and that's fighting. He could start sparring with the kid and while catching there breath, talk more and eventually the kid opens up to him about his parents being murdered and Bruce sees that same rage in him that he himself had. Bruce then dives into an investigation looking for the people responsible to help the kid get justice. Eventually the kid stumbles upon the batcave while messing around in the house and sees Bruces ongoing investigation and he demands that he be able to help.

I agree with you and everything in this video. I just want to add that the scene with Batman escorting Mitchell's kid at the end is how I picture a young Robin. The way he's just perched on the little rock waiting for Batman to lead the way. It would be interesting to see a young kid go through the torment of losing his family especially since Chris O Donnels was so old and we saw Bruce's in Gotham. It'd be interesting to follow a young Graysons development. But I'd wait to the 3rd and after that

I feel like the Graysons will be introduced in the Penguin show and you’ll see Bruce adopt him at the end of the series. The sequel would be Bruce trying to manage being Batman and taking care of Dick. As the movie proceeds Dick will find out Bruce is Batman and want to help bring in his parents murderer. And there’s that conflict with Bruce and Dick because he’s not allowing dick to help. Canonically Bruce adopts Dick in his third year but it’ll be an awesome sequel no matter what they do.

Maybe they will introduce Harley as a therapist at Arkham State Hospital in the batman 2 or the arkham series. She'll have a small cameo like having interaction with batman after bringing in a villian like mad hatter or the calendar man. Then she'll play a big part in the HBO Maxx series and her ending in the finale will be her going to interview a patient in a cell who happens to be the joker, maybe riddler will be in there with him to help him have harley break them out of Arkham.

Considering how Ivy using a poisonous lipstick and Hagen in The Animated Series uses a beauty cream, I would like this movie to be sort of a darker take on beauty products (although, I don't know how this would make well in marketing). However, I really don't think it matters too much what version is used as long as the villains are mainly Clayface and Poison Ivy. The tone of the first was set to give off a psychological horror vibe, so I think the second should play with (I don't think Mr Freeze would be able to pull horror, but I digress). And since Matt Reeves has done Cloverfield and Let Me In, this could work. When Batman's investigating Ivy's plants, they grasp him in a jump scare moment. Or when Clayface's mutating becomes uncontrollable, it's literally like The Thing, Tetsuo's tranformation (Akira), and Ditto (Pokemon), and the T-1000, mixed together creating a terrifying image every frame. Basically, this movie can pay homage to 80s monster movies, like The Thing, The Fly and Little Shop of Horrors.

To be far about the robin thing boba i think people like myself would like to see the consequences of a 13 year old kid being a crime fighter navigating this rainy and dim gotham city with bruce and showing that angle of its cool to be his sidekick but then also its taken seriously like how hitgirls dad from the first kickass movie made her understand what it feels like to get shot, for example to never turn your back to an open doorway, don't go in without me, always have an escape plan and for situations that are extremely dangerous even by bruce's way of thinking he grounds him from engaging in the chase or investigation. Maybe he even feels the toll of being "The Batman's" ward have day dreams of mistakes he made while in the field with bruce all in a ground setting of course and maybe his way of dealing with the stress will be him forming a sort of joke reflex giving his quippy lines more meaning and us the audience can understand when he's dealing with his stress or stressful situations. would like to know if you could see that as a possibility instead of the playing it safe route, like its a decision that can be regrated later on or see if bruce doubles down on letting an actual kid fight crime with him to solidify his state of mind on if he did it to prevent the kid from turning out the way he did or otherwise.

Building on RJ’s comment - I was going to say I hope they don’t change the batmobile aesthetic at all (other than maybe minor spit and polish here and there) but was actually wanted your thoughts on if you’d like to more of it next movie? I think it’s such a dope character and beast itself and I feel like we didn’t see an adequate amount of it. I do love the car chase scene, but even there it was a lot of interior shots of Rob and then quick millisecond glances and flashes of the outside aesthetic and that was a little disappointing to me. We never even saw how he drives it out of the cave, we saw the entrance for the motorcycle but he couldn’t drive the car up those narrow stairs, so just wondering if you’d like to see more of it in full?

#comeasyouare Hey Boba loving The Batman discussion videos. I think they should definitely do Mr. Freeze as a main villain for the sequel. Riddler really challenged Batman mentally and I think this next villain should challenge batman physically to allow from a different story from the first film. I think a really interesting way they could introduce Mr. Freeze would be to explain that the way Gotham City temporarily solves the flooding situation is by freezing the water and turning it into ice so people can at least maneuver (albeit unsafely) Gotham city rather than having to swim like that poor dog shown at the end. So Mr. Freeze could be a worker at this science company that has the task of freezing the water and something goes wrong that turns Mr. Freeze evil. Obviously needs more detail but you get the idea. Freezing the flooding introducing Mr. Freeze. Also I really hope the movie takes place in the winter that would be so beautiful.

If we get a new suit I want it to be very subtle changes only to parts and materials he uses. I’d ditch the detachable symbol coz it did look goofy when he took it on and off and looked like he could fumble and drop it or fall off if it got shot. His Batarangs should be used for what it was used for. And change or upgrade the cowl the dude took 1 to many shots to the dome and I really don’t think he had any real hard material in the cowl coz when he takes it off it folds and bends in on itself so I’d like to see more of a metal machined look similar to “Future State” but with different cowl ears and neck, jaw and real ears. Plus I think that kind of material would look amazing with the rain droplets and Fraser’s lighting and cinematography 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼

#ComeAsYouAre So, here’s my pitch for the next Nirvana song for The Batman 2. The Mad Hatter, Jervis Tetch, is the antagonist and in a grounded gritty universe we delve into the more predatorial nature of Hatter, with his obsession over ‘his alice’, so I suggest the use Nirvana- Polly. Not only could to lyrics match the story quite closely, Kurt apparently wrote it from the perspective of the perpetrator on purpose, leaning into the detective aspect of the Batman as well as the Spotify podcast series I’m listening to, in which Bruce tries to put himself into the victims headspace, I think this song could work perfectly. Give the song a listen with this in mind and keep up the great work 👍🏼

He is now in such a state where Bruce has no identity and this man gets suddenly forced to take up a persona he has no familiarity with - I can see Reeves adapt this concept in an inverse way to Batman Ego, wherein Bruce is now the the perpetual hindrance to the Batman.. we've all faced such a dilemma in this day and age, and this sequel can show his progression to finding a happy medium between Bruce & the Batman (Catwoman & Freeze can very easily aid this story line).. Think about this 😉

brother boba...new subscriber here...found your channel after obsessively bingeing everything i could about "the batman"...to my mind, it's clearly the best batman movie ever produced...although i do understand how that's not a universal opinion...the movie has made me a legit batfan, to a degree i never was before...so, i was inspired to go and finish up reading "the killing joke"...(and watching the garbage animated film)...only to discover another point of great bat-controversy...the ending of killing joke (no spoilers) ...did you ever do ever do a video discussing this?...my opinion is rock-solid...was curious to hear boba's take and those of his bobites in the comments!

It would be kinda cool if they just took a shot in the dark and picked a lesser known villain. I personally was always a big fan of Prometheus and I think he could be a interesting challenge and possibly give Bruce another change of heart similar to his change from vengeance to hope.

If they have Mr. Freeze I'm the Sequel I think what they should do is have Ferris Boyle shut down Mr. Freezes project because he is putting money into restoring Gotham from the flood disaster, which that is why he cuts the funding of multiple projects. From restoring Gotham, Ferris Boyle becomes the biggest philanthropist in Gotham and we see that Mr. Freeze is angered by the man who cut the funding of his wife's project and swears to get revenge.

I totally agree with you and your theories is correct I hope to continue the same storytelling how the The animated series was from the very beginning Going in the new Batman season 6 throughout Bruce Wayne's Journey becoming Batman over two years and then a Detective Comics I hope he keeps you the same storytelling like you did before back in the past that's how we like to see the the Batman Arkham series very well perfect. One song I think would be a good contender even though it’s technically… not a nirvana song, but I think people think more of Nirvanas sound in they’re head when they think about this song. - Man Who Sold The World (MTV unplugged) - This can work as a dual message for both Bruce/Batman, the corruption of Gotham and the potential villain (court of owls 🦉 would be a good option as secret society with so much influence and power they would sell, manipulate, kill anyone or anything to maintain control. they’re the ones that could be corrupting “the world” Gotham or even mr.freeze showing how far he’s willing go to get his “world” wife back) harping on the corruption that Gotham. - Works really well with Bruce because of the ending of the movie he’s gonna get more involved in the reconstruction of Gotham (a man who has everything in the world, and devoted himself to saving “the world” Gotham) will be another mirror antithesis of the villain and the circumstances that the movie left everyone in. - Love the idea of “come as you are” but, I feel like the song while a classic and recognizable that’s the issue.. it’s too known and everyone knows that song loves it. I think the reason “something in the way works” is 3 reason 1. It’s a classic but not a mainstream known and heard nirvana song by casual fans hence Matt reeves was able to take it and make it the movies Amin theme and song. 2. Something in the way was literally the whole emotional back none of the story and worked perfectly so well that when u first hear it, it need no further explanation w/o it being so on the noise . 3. Man who sold the world & something in the way have a more I guess u can say steady quasi melancholic sound that isn’t screaming or blasting sound both have a steady for rhythmic cadence that the actors could still talk and perform while the song is I the background and it adds to the dialogue rather than come as you are I wouldn’t say is a louder more screaming by any means in fact it’s a great Candace and I can see the parts it would works. But in my opinion MWSTW is slightly slower and the title has such a damn good meaning that similar to SITW it need not be said abs everyone still has their own ideas and dual message. - Love ya work Boba!!! I think people are getting hung up on the idea that Robin has to be in combat or that Bruce has to sanction Robin being in combat. The only part of Robin that matters in Bruce’s character development is the father/son relationship, which you kinda need a younger kid for given that Pattinson looks like he’s in his 20s. Robin can figure out Bruce’s identity, then help him with the investigative stuff or be an Alfred-like voice in his ear. If the Robin was Jason, which I think it should be given that Jason’s dad was killed by the Penguin and this Bruce is a Mech-head like Jason is, he could already be a Robin-like figure as a street kid and then he can be a robin-like figure when he tries to rescue his mom from Joker. These actions would not be sanctioned by Bruce and so Bruce would not be implicated in child endangerment. Bonus: Jason is the red herring culprit in hush. Wouldn’t it be creepy if clayface turned into a child Jason instead of adult Jason in Hush to mess with Bruce’s head if they do Hush. I’m thinking death in the family happens at the beginning of the 3rd movie and the Joker and Hush are the villains of movie 3.

Just go the Young Justice route and have Bruce Wayne aware he's taking in a gifted kid with talent. Robin’s first few years he should be nothing but a myth and is only used as a decoy for the bad guys. Also, I definitely wouldn't even think to have Dick fighting any bad guys in this movie, he's only present to be the opposite of The Batman.

If we only get 3 movies, I think an interesting way to do the Robin plot line in the sequel is to have the mayor's kid from the first movie end up in juvenile detention or some other bad situation. It would be all over the news. We already know Bruce felt compassion for him and maybe seeing him get into trouble will turn into guilt/regret for not doing more. That way when Bruce sees it happen to Dick he'll want to make sure that doesn't happen again. He could adopt him by the end of the movie. And if they do decide to cast younger, maybe Dick doesn't find out that Bruce is Batman until halfway through the third movie after a few years have passed and he's around 17/18. He becomes Robin (against Bruce's wishes) and we get the team up for the third act. #comeasyouare

i think hell definitely go arkham style based off of what he probably learned in this one. like not only did he almost die bulldozing through everyone (shotgun blast), but if he had died, it would have potentially cost many more lives (ie whatever goons left may have continued their reign of terror, well granted they got around the approaching selina and gordon. or didnt just wanna hightail it period after how bad it went). anyway, so with his newfound 'fighting for the people', not so bitter angry all the time mentality, i feel he'll have more self preservation, and start adopting and or tapping into/perfecting fighting techniques he probably already has, but just wasnt using because he preferred barreling through criminal ass.

I would love to see the opening of the sequel mirrors the first one. Batman saving someone. Have like a C-list villain lead a group of thugs. Batman comes in all stealth, taking out all the thugs one by one. The C-list villain says, "What are you?" and Batman swoops in, "I'm Batman".
