I want to see more directors with very particular and detailed vision for big IPs like him that are passionate and allowed to execute their visions as they see fit rather than have their films compromised by dispassionate executives.

He elevated the Planet of the Apes franchise! I also really like his direction more so than other big IP directors as it’s very Hitchcockian and he uses perspective to great effect. Even Nolan’s direction seemed a tad bit generic.

Saw it yesterday and loved it. Seems like he just confirmed that the Acme factory incident occurred in year one. Makes sense since the "mystery character" looked burnt. He's pieced everything together beautifully. Can't wait for more.

yea reeves probably won't use him in the next sequel, because as he said the Joker is not "The Joker" yet. He's only a seed for now that will grow into the Clown Prince. Hopefully we see him in the 3rd installation.

Reeves seems like such a kind and humble man. I'm so grateful he got to make the movie he wanted. I love how he let Batman be Batman for once in a live-action movie. Bruce is an inherently mopey "emo" person, even deadpan hilarious with how antisocial and singleminded he is in group settings. But his selflessness and no-kill ideals stayed true. The flare scene of the finale made me well up in the theater for how simple and humble it was, and it seems to have done the same for many others as well. Not to mention his chemistry with Selina was just absolutely pitch-perfect. I hope she'll be back. I'm so glad to finally love a live action Batman as much as the animated ones. If Reeves gets to make more Batman movies, I will be watching them all in the theater without a doubt.

LOVE THIS MOVIE. Honestly doesn’t feel like a comic book movie. The dark knight is more comic bookie/ blockbuster than this. I just feel more comfortable in this Batman world cuz the tone and atmosphere is exactly how I pictured a live action Batman movie. Hats off to Matt reeves.

I think Matt never imagined that he was going to direct a Batman's movie, but he did it very good. As far as i'm concerned, Robert Pattinson's The Batman amazed me as much as the whole cast. I liked also Paul Dano's performance as The Riddler. In fact, he based on the serial killer of zodiac movie to play The Riddler, which I found quite interesting.

Makes sense in year one Batman comics his first goal when he came back from Gotham was to take down the red hood gang and made the decision to become Batman because Bruce Wayne was failing and he needed a way to generate fear without exposing his identity I love it. (For those who don’t know Joker was the Leader of this red hood gang) such a great comic and explains this Batman’s year one perfectly

@@EnginDemircan02 BvS UE (3hrs long) was great, its overhated and especially underrated. Snyder Cut is also epic its like a 4 hrs long movie which is divided into chapters as a Mini-Series. And Watchmen Ultimate Cut (3 hrs 40 mins) was also great. He is a hella goated DC director in my opinion

That's MCU. Batman works best when he is grounded, otherwise, non-comic book audiences will not buy his ability to beat everyone with his mind alone. Just look at how people attack MCU for nerfing character powers to further the plot. With Batman, you rarely leave the theater thinking about such things. You can just enjoy it.

Saw it yesterday in IMAX and I think it's great. The story is great, the acting, the vibe, the casting. All great stuff. However, as a long Batman fan, I must say that Robert's suit and cowl is the worst. Especially the cowl; I think it's hideous. The weird nose, the ears placed backwards, the weird shape of his head. It doesn't feel like Batman to me and I thought so from the first camera test footage and I haven't changed my opinion after seeing the movie. I wasn't feeling it at all compared to how Ben Affleck's Batman or Christian Bale's Batman in Batman Begins came across. If that makes sense. I hope they change the suit and cowl in the second movie. That said, the scene when the Batmobile fires up. Man, goosebumps all over. That sound when he starts up the engine... Pfff. The whole theater went nuts :)
