I love it. Early Batman. This is a young, angry Bruce who lacks control. You can still see the deep rooted sense of justice and wanting to do the right thing, but this is Batman before gaining the sense of direction that guides his moral compass and emotions going forward. Like he says here "I am vengeance." That is the base of his actions here, getting revenge. And it shows.

First impressions that I love: 1. This trailer doesn't give away the entire plot of the movie, it gives hints, which is what a trailer is SUPPOSED TO DO. 2. I'm getting some pretty hardcore vibes from it, so I'm kinda hoping it's going to be an r-rated film. 3. THEY ACTUALLY KEPT THE FACE PAINT AROUND HIS EYES ON AFTER HE TAKES OFF HIS MASK. They finally embraced who Batman really was. "I'm vengeance", which is how I've always seen Batman. Not fighting for justice, but to get revenge for what happened to his parents on every criminal. It also reminds us what Batman greatest weapon is: the fear he inspires. His whole character is built around a tortured soul, who uses darkness and violence to make sure criminals fear him. This is why he destroyed that thug. To induce fear to the rest of the group, show them what awaits them. This is how he's known, like a bogeyman: if you do something bad, The Batman will come, and he will crush you.

I'd say that's especially applicable during his Year One era, or even his whole early period. He starts to shed it more and more as he gains apprentices and pretty much becomes the tempered detective once the Justice League went full swing.

Sassy Sasquatch the way they handled Batman in this reminds me a lot of the way Netflix handled Daredevil-no silly voice, grounded and practical, and a man of justice (though, Batman in this is consumed with vengeance) with a dark side that comes out whenever he’s beating down criminals with deep satisfaction. Everyone was so upset when he was announced as Batman and me being a fan of him since he was in Harry Potter(and yes Twilight too), he has really progressed as an actor. He has solidified himself as an actor. And it makes me angry that people won’t stop criticizing him because of Twilight. I haven’t seen the lighthouse yet(it’s on my list) but Good Time was an incredible movie, and all the stuff he’s done since Twilight, has been amazing! He is going to be great in this movie. The trailer has proven that. And I am so excited for it!

I know I am in the minority, but Michael Keaton made a terrible Batman. He had a receding hairline and no chin. Bruce Wayne/Batman should be handsome like Christian Bale or Ben Affleck. I am not surprised Tim Burton chose Michael Keaton. Burton thought Nicholas Cage made a good Clark Kent/Superman. 🙄. Burton and fanboys like a superhero who looks like them, average. However, it is interesting that Burton when choosing the female lead gets a gorgeous women like Kim Basinger or Michelle Phiefer. I think Robert Pattinson makes a terrible Batman. The fact that he won’t muscle up for the part, and we are supposed to believe he can really move in that Michelin man padded tire suit is hilarious. You know fan girls like some eye candy too in their superhero movies. Give me Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, or even Val Kilmer. I prefer those actors to Robert Pattinson. 😫😫😫

He was annoyingly too emo, whimpy and that voice was ridiculous as hell. Even his Bruce Wayne was way too flamboyant, carefree and emo as well. His was one of the worst Batman and Bruce Wayne, as bad as George Clooney and Val Kilmer. Pattison's take on Batman and Bruce Wayne seems to be the closest to the comics Batman. Even though we only saw bits and pieces of him as Batman in the trailer, he seemed to have nailed it perfectly. I think Pattison's Batman is going to be the most accurate and best Batman to date. This film was made as a cash grab for people by just using a very familiar character and just throwing stuff already seen before, tons of times over to make it look cool. Nothing new is shown to give the Batman myth anything new here. Im surprised no one is mentioning the song used for the trailer. It gives me goosebumps, holy shit. I think the biggest difference between this and Nolans batman movies is that Nolan made dark and gritty super hero movies. This feels more like a crime thriller with Batman. If the Riddler wins hes not gonna blow up Gotham or kill a boat full of people. Hes gonna kill a few people and expose all their secrets. Gotham will tear the GCPD, and then itself, apart. The stakes are still high, but more realistically high. Ya know? At least I hope that's the direction they're going.

This version of Batman reminds me of Red Hood in the Battle for the Cowl, when he became the Batman, but a more brutal and lethal Batman.
