Flip your rearview mirror upward while driving. A rearview mirror is only for parking. You don't need it while driving if you are proficient at using your side mirrors. This reduces road rage because you can't tell if someone is tailgating you closely or not. People in anger management classes are often told to do this and it *works.*
@joeomalley28355 жыл бұрын
Psycho drivers are the worst. I had a nut case behind me doing all kinds of things. Tailgaiting, flipping me off, honking constantly, and yet I'm the bad driver. And I was going the speed limit. I think she was upset because I wasn't going 15 mph over the speed limit or something. I think some people need to get a psychological evaluation before they get a license.

Wow. I just returned to San Diego from spending a week in Denver. I grew up there; left for Socal in 1980. I found driving in the Denver area a weird and challenging experience. Very different from the LA-style traffic I'm used to. One would think "traffic is traffic" but there is something surreal about Denver congestion that I can't quite describe. Even with the Google, the place can be difficult to navigate. I learned to drive there, so I know my way around. (We're talking the days of cruising 16th & drag racing at the I70-I225 junction. ) But that was before an entire section of town was assigned one street name--Inverness. Never thought I'd have to sit through three light cycles to cross East Colfax on Quebec...at 10 on a weekday morning. So I'm here to report that nothing has changed since this story aired.

My solution to road rage after driving since 1967 and an operator's license since 1972 (LOL!!!). Turn it loose, not a big deal. If anyone blows their horn at me or flips me off I just wave and smile. Rarely happens to me but I see plenty of it, and I ride bicycles and motorcycles too. Many people are in just too big of a hurry. We will all arrive at our destinations in due time, hopefully safely.

If the majority of the entire US population didn't exhibit sociopath behavior in the first place there wouldn't be so many issues. I've lived in Houston 30 years with the exception of a two year stint from '12-'14 and Houston is literally five times the size of Denver but I was flipped off by another driver 3 times my very first year in Denver which equates to the total number of times in 30 years that I was flipped off in Houston. I think the problem (at least this is my theory) is that people are bringing a small town driving mentality to what is no longer a small town. In Houston on the freeway to change lanes you put on your blinker (or not) and if you're not going to hit anyone you just change lanes. You might slide over and in front of someone 20' ahead of them while going 50 or 60 and nobody thinks about it twice. That's just what you do in a busy freeway. It's like "no harm no foul, we both have things to do and let's get on with life" which is the mentality you HAVE to have driving in a big city. In Denver it was almost like you're insulting them personally; "how dare you change lanes so close in front of me!" Too much small town driving mentality in what is no longer a small town.

Road rage has gotten horrible and way worse ever since all these transplants moved here to Denver, so thanks to them it’s a risk driving and it takes a whole hour or so just to get across town that used to be only 10 to 15 minutes. I’m born and raised here 3rd generation, and the city of Denver and every other city in Colorado, has become overpacked, overwhelming, luxurious apartments are made while natives are being replaced with all these ugly individuals moving here ruining Denver. I’ve grown to dislike my own home state. I’ve never seen so much gentrification in my life. I understand ppl move here because of jobs, or their home state is crappy, or mainly for the marijuana. It’s just ridiculous already. Denver has never been the same for the past 6 years and never will be again.
