I was there 4 years ago. It was one of my favorite bible stories. Bless you.

I was just there last week! I picked 5 smooth stones from the Brook of Elah, and picked some wheat and tares. It was so green, and it had JUST rained the night before. I was with a Calvary Chapel Church group and we had a Bible study about David and what happened there. It was one of many profound moments in the Land of The Bible.

Earlier today I watched a vid on Lachish and how the battle scenes were found on the walls of Ninevah. The most amazing thing that caught my eye was Assyrian warriors with loaded slings above their heads. It made me think of David immediately. I've always marveled how David reminds me how we all are in our youth, young and immortal, and unafraid to pursue things that in our adulthood we would not, or would think twice about.

@@joshmajor8662 I tried to sink in if i were David facing Goliath I would probably being slain. How big his faith was. I pray the Lord will give me faith as of him.

I think people put David as the under-dog really David had a hart full of faith and the right weapon it was a ranging weapon and the Lord gave him the skill to use it. We all have gifts to use its all in God's timing. What a great video and story.

I never realised that the slingshot in those days catered for a stone the size of a tennis ball. Some missile! 😮

@@appianmedia LOL nice one!

Hahahaha what are you talking about!?? Lol Goliath died because he was beheaded, the stone to the forehead is was took him down! Not god Lol I’m technically a southern Baptist and we don’t even assume things like that from the Bible. By your logic it was god who told Goliath to kill David then lol

“49 And David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone and slung it and struck the Philistine on his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the ground. 50 So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him. There was no sword in the hand of David.” - 1 Samuel 17:49-50 Earlier David made it clear: “this day, the LORD will give you into my hand.” We don’t assume, we simply read the text. God bless you in your study.

@@appianmedia your doing more than most channels by responding, so thank you!! I’ll go back and reread the historical findings but I’m pretty sure they concluded he was beheaded, actually I’m almost positive!! That said, your still going off of highly modified text that as far as we know could be completely wrong, right? Not trying be s dick or rude I’m legitimately curious how you see this. Sadly you can’t really convey emotion on here Lol

We would encourage you to watch the entire “Searching for a King” series that this clip comes from, as it provides some very clear evidence that we can in fact trust the scripture as we have it today, trusting that is in God’s fully revealed and inspired Word.
