4:23 EA fucked up so much in one go. Both Battlefront 2 and Battlefield V had hit a point where people were having fun and were optimistic about them. Everyone was aware of new content in the pipeline e.g. Clone Wars content and other WWII fronts and factions. Then EA basically came out and said "go fuck yourselves, we've pulled all the dev teams to work on our new hero shooter, I mean Battlefield game!" Enjoy the buggy mess where you're no longer a cog in a generic battle, but rather a unique character with special abilities unavailable to other characters.

"Unique characters" Meanwhile the other 12 or so copies of the same "unique character" running right next to them

I remember battlefront from the original Xbox where you could pick and choose your droids that you were or your clone troopers or storm troopers or rebel soldiers and then you could also pick if you Call a hero support you could call for back up and it was basically just the original stories. Just you were the character.

That Gammer supps cup image has added armor, the booba acts as a recoil absorber so when a round hits the chest plate it will do even less damage lol

5:39 I'll never get tired of hearing this music. For those who don't know, this song was from the final confrontation in the amazing film "The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly". Excellent scene made all the more pulse pounding with this music, which inversely makes that moment in Rubix Raptor's vid too fucking hilarious.

about the Battlefield chat around 6:28 Battlefield 2142 is still my favorite of the entire series. It took the things I liked most from 1942 and extrapolated on them and had some honestly fairly enjoyable equipment and the commander tools were just excellent. UAV drones for the entire team, EMP artillery to stop heavy vehicles in their tracks, actual like orbital bombardment over a wide area, a full-map scan that briefly shows where every enemy is located, and I think there was one other I'm forgetting- not to mention the Titan mode on servers that didn't lock Titan movement- where the commander was able to move the Titan to an advantageous position to attack or defend from, while keeping in mind it was the end goal for the enemy to attack, as well. The walkers being a two person vehicle, the hover tanks from one faction with the treaded ones from the other Halo style... it's still my favorite. I played a decent bit of Battlefield 3 back in the day and it just... it wasn't the grand multi-faceted warfare game we had previously. Bad Company 2 was really good too though. I caught the tail end of its popularity I think and got some good enjoyment there. The heavily advertised level destruction in Bad Company 2 still has not been beat for me in any game, period. Not just from a "oh I need to go hit that guy behind a wall, let's just level the entire house on him" angle but also just because like... at the start, the map would be pristine. Untouched. By the end, it's all rubble. It really SOLD the war you were ostensibly fighting. I don't know. It just doesn't capture that feeling now.

6:08 Asking to have a good and functioning _Battlefield_ game at launch is a lot like asking for Todd Howard to properly polish the games he makes before launch. You're asking for a miracle, and I say that from personal experience. I've played _Battlefield 1943,_ _3,_ and _4_ over the years. Of these three games, only _1943_ was stable at launch, and it achieved that by virtue of only having a grand total of four maps and two game modes. _Battlefield 3_ had some troubling issues at launch, but the greater majority of them ironed out relatively quickly, so it had that going for it that kept it fun in the long run for the players. The launch of _Battlefield 4,_ however, was nothing short of a modern tragedy. The amount and types of bugs you would encounter were absurd, but the most damning part was the horrific server stability in the form of mass rubber-banding, which made it mostly unplayable. From my personal experience of playing the game, server stability issues still plagued the game six months later by the time they released the third DLC for the game. At one point or another, they eventually got around to fixing it, and they apparently did so by buying new server hardware altogether, but I stepped away from playing the game for quite some time by that point. By the time I returned to it about a year later, everything was working, the bugs were negligible, and I was able to legitimately enjoy myself, albeit not to the same extent as in _Battlefield 3._ The launch left a bad taste in mouth that never really went away. That was, and still remains, as the last EA game that I have ever purchased, and was the first and only two games I ever pre-ordered (the other being _XCOM 2_ a couple years later, which was well worth it despite a release delay...which probably had more to do with a truly _stacked_ release window at the time than anything else). EA and DICE cleaned up their act a fair bit for _Battlefield 1,_ and even did right by the community by way of a battery of community beta tests before the official release to ensure things went smoothly and minimize bugs. Unfortunately, they subsequently dropped the ball hard on the marketing for _Battlefield V,_ which, combined with the _Battlefront 2_ microtransaction fiasco from the previous year (I was there when the infamous "pride and accomplishment" comment was posted on Reddit during an AMA session with EA's community team), basically served to kill continued development on both games in April 2020. By the time they returned with a new _Battlefield_ game with _2042,_ they had reverted to their old ways and ended up releasing an unstable, broken mess that strayed too far away from what _Battlefield_ was known for.

Asking for a functioning Battlefield game on launch is like asking Valve to make a Half-Life or Left 4 Dead 3
