I think I could listen to R.C. Sproul from the time I wake up til the time I go to sleep if life didn't interfere. As it is, I listen to him and John MacArthur all night long. God blessed both of them with such wisdom and wit.

I had my own Damascus road conversion in early 1986. Wore all my Sproul cassette tapes out..I think "The Holiness of God" actually broke and I taped it back together. Along with Mac Arthur, Wilkerson, Chambers and Tozer, RC remains a daily staple for me. I'm blown away that it's now live streamed 24/7.

Yes, this is not where I would start for an understanding. I definitely would agree with Kathleen, that the best thing you can do is to open the Holy Bible...how can we know God, how can we know the Lord Jesus Christ? By reading His words and following them. Starting in Matthew at the beginning of the New Testament is a great start, and you also need to find a strong leader that you can meet with for clarity, and guidance....in light of Covid, I zoom chat with my pastor and his wife regularly to ask questions that arise as I read my Bible and for guidance...I highly recommend finding a reformed church (this simply means a church seeking scriptural Truth...many church's have bent the truth with the changing tides of society and the world) and pray to God, 'I cast all my cares upon you' (speak to God about all your questions, fears, sadness, depression, hopes etc) I pray the Lord leads you to His word and a community of believers desiring and seeking God. I pray God's grace for you to understand His word and be transformed by his saving grace in Jesus Christ 🙏 Out purpose is the glorification of God 😊

This reminds me of a sermon I heard where the different meanings of WORLD were explained. Sometimes world means the body of born again Christians. The scripture they cited was John 3:16 explaining that world does not necessarily mean every person living in the world. Some people are not God's children, some are children of the evil one. I pray more preachers would clarify this to their congregations as there is so much confusion. That was just one example of how words can change the meaning of something. God bless you all
@alantriplett3043 жыл бұрын
The principal subject of John 3:16 is CHRIST AS THE GIFT OF GOD. The first clause tells us WHAT moved God to " give " His only begotten Son, and that was His great " love " ; the second clause informs us FOR WHOM God " gave " His Son, and that is for, whosoever (or better, ' every one ' ) that believeth ; " while the last clause makes known WHY God " gave " His Son ( His purpose ), and that is, that everyone that believeth " should not perish but have everlasting life. " That " the world " in John 3:16 refers to THE WORLD OF BELIEVERS ( God's elect ), in contradistinction from " THE WORLD OF THE UNGODLY " ( 2 Pet. 2:5 ), is established, unequivocally established, by a comparison of the OTHER passages which speak of God's love. " God commendeth His love TOWARD US " __ the saints. Rom. 5:8. " WHOM the Lord loves He chasteneth ( corrects ) every son or daughter, Heb. 12:6. " We love Him, because He first loved US " --- believers, 1 John 4:19. The wicked God " pities " ( see Matt. 18:33). Unto the unthankful and evil God is " kind " ( see Luke 6:35). The vessels of wrath He endures " with much long-suffering " ( see Rom. 9:22). But " His own " chosen ones God " loves " !!

I’m as old school as it gets and there’s nothing wrong with watching movies. Anything and everything could cause us to sin. Stepping outside could have things we shouldn’t see, there’s no way to shield yourself from every single bad thing out there. Just have to watch what you’re absorbing into your mind and heart.

GOOD NEWS; There is Resurrection, Eternal life and forgiveness of ALL previously committed sins in Jesus Christ. It is witnessed and recorded that "Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures" (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) AND "If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame." (Romans 10:9-11) TURN AWAY FROM WRONG DOING AND BELIEVE THE GOOD NEWS.

Even if there werent a Resurrection, there would still be hope because our sins were atoned for at the cross.

The Messiah (Jesus) son of Mary he is not GOD but a messenger, God almighty can NOT have a human Mother so are they saying the GOD almighty is half Human? Search for the truth "one message foundation" here KZbin God does not have son and will not sent his son to die for our sin, Everybody they are responsible for their own deed Ezekiel 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

No, you are wrong. Jesus is Immanuel (God with us). God inserted Himself in to humanity through Mary. If you don’t believe that Jesus is God then you have no Redeemer and if you have no Redeemer then you will pay for your own sins in hell for eternity. Keep listening. Read the Holy Bible. Pray that God would open your ears to the truth of His word. By the time you read this I will have said a prayer for you. Time is short, there are no do overs. Now is the day of salvation - once you die it is too late.

@@Psalm146-2 God inserted Himself in to humanity through Mary. did you made up that in your head? doesn't say anywhere in the bible The God remain the same in nature (Hebrews 1:12) Jesus is the same human today, yesterday and forever (Hebrew 13:8)

@@3minutes927 Someone has deceived you. You are in a very dangerous place. Read the following carefully. Meditate on these verses. Do not skim over them - I am not arguing with you - I am sharing what God has told us - they are the words of eternal life. Matthew 1:16 “and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.” Matthew 1:22 “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).” John 8:24 “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” John 8:56-58 “Your father Abraham rejoiced at the thought of seeing my day; he saw it and was glad.” “You are not yet fifty years old,” they said to him, “and you have seen Abraham!” “Very truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” Jesus is the same “I Am” that spoke to Moses - Exodus 3:14 “God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’”

This is Not Teaching Jesus Gospel. Jesus did not teach us to battle the world. Jesus Said.." the world will always be with us. Resist NOT evil. Forgive The World and Seek and Trust Me! I will Give You everything you Need and Deliver You from evil.". It sure Woud be nice..if a Christian Woud actually Teach Christ for a change..instead of their own cherry-picked bible version of Jesus.
