The star card system is complete trash though. If you don't keep up with the game and constantly grind so you can level up your abilities, you'll get absolutely bodied by people who no-life the game and have everything maxed out. It's not something you can casually jump into from time to time, or bring new players into.

I never liked that system, I much prefer just having the option to create classes like you can in the battlefield games and choose your own weapons, and equipment. It has flaws but I still very much enjoy it. I think you make a great point for it being difficult for new players to pick up, and if that was addressed the game would thrive again. A couple sales on the game or maybe even a free week where people can download it and play would help rejuvenate it. Sucks EA had to let their greed get in the way because I think the game is absolutely beautiful and there was so much planned for it. An order 66 mode would've been amazing

It was a terrible system and the lootbox and corporate greed literally made other devs be scared about people abandoning their games for the same reason. It did some good in the overall span of things to discourage the same malicious practices but its a shame that it had to be a failure for star wars battlefront to make that happen. They did the overhaul of the game to try to fix this so imagine if they just let the devs develop without those terrible systems being put in to profit .. could've had arguably the best star wars multiplayer ever

And you can beat guys with no star cards equipped once you learn mechanics but that's admittedly later on during playing

Even with clone stuff and the last update they did I can get pretty bored pretty quick with this game. Criterion did such a fantastic job with the starfighter’s that it’s such a shame they couldn’t be kept on to further add more ships and levels. Such an underrated gem of a mode.

The modding community for this game deserves all of the credit for turning it into a worthwhile experience. I will never forget finally getting into modding and the Kyber servers with my friends, we just played the PVE modes with the overhaul mods, such a great experience.

As heartbreaking as it is to look at what could’ve and should’ve been, I still want everyone to remember and appreciate what we did get. Imagine how much worse it would’ve felt if the Geonosis update never happened and the game faded into further obscurity than it is now. The content we did get was awesome, I’m so thankful to Dice for showing us their passion and commitment. The game we ended up with is still one of my favourite online games ever made, and that’s saying something

It's just heartbreaking honestly, and I BLOWS MY MIND from a business / moneymaking perspective I think it's been shown by games like Fortnite, people will pay TONNES for Star Wars cosmetics I remember even during the life cycle of BF2, being quite surprised that they weren't putting more into cosmetics Imagine a legendary skin for Obi Wan called "Old Ben" which turns him into his OT counterpart, different VA / Different interactions with people (Hell you could even make that a tier higher than legendary) Also got the idea from another comment to also do this with Jango Fett, Legendary skin for Boba, turns him into Jango, no new VA even required. Have some changed interactions with other heroes, etc I suppose they had to redesign a LOT of the games systems after the launch disaster, but still, if they'd been able to put a tonne of focus into cosmetics, new heroes etc, then they could've made quite a lot of money That point though, about “Just use the lines from the shows” DEAR GOD NO One of my fav parts about BF2 was the hero interactions Anakins fear when running into Vader / Palpatine Obi Wan bantering with Grevious Luke and Leia talking to eachother etc Some of the skins they made were REALLY good, but yeeeeeah... Too late I guess

Pain...... So much pain.... but there is hope. Kyber V2 and the community are doing incredible work to breathe new life into the Battlefront series. While it's tough to have hope with the current outlook of Star Wars games, the community is putting a lot of passion and hard work into continuing to evolve the game we all love! Don't lose hope! :)

It's enough to make a grown man cry. We were on the cusp of the biggest comeback in gaming when they released those updates in 2019 and early 2020. EA robbed us of a legendary return to form for Battlefront as a franchise. Guess we're truly cursed to never get our BF III. Such a cruel joke.

I always thought it was weird that Ahsoka never got added to the game. Her popularity made her an obvious choice even on launch. I always dislike when prioritization of the movies is mandated. I know they're the most popular, but it's clear the developers had a passion for the EU and the Disney Canon (evident by all the references in the campaign.) That's EA for ya. Also, wanting to do Nightsisters feels like the perfect thing for a zombie mode.

There was so much OT content they could have added, like the Trench Run with 1-4 vs 0-4 players. Or Cloud City with law enforcement vs. demolition squad. Even Ewoks vs. Empire on the full Yavin IV map. Mostly I still want more maps, like the ones Lucas Arts created. And if the maps are good, the animated shows can steal them!
