Omg, this Jeep is still around and still in production for sale. I remembered being a small kid back in China this was a military or police vehicle which people called it the Jeep yes ThE Jeep. Came to America over 30 years and this definitely brings back some old memories. It's is insane like Toyota is still producing FJ40 now

UAZ may have built them longest and may still do, but the original was the GAZ-69. There were local versions in other eastern Bloc countries as well.

Based on the owner's cosmetic "upgrades," the sound system should only play: 1. An Audiobook of the Quotations from the Chairman 2. Red Sun in the Sky (on loop, full volume, with no way to stop it)

I love this car and totally want one! Raw character is sadly missing from most modern cars! BTW, the wandering is an easy suspension fix by increasing the front caster angle.
@chabacano092 жыл бұрын
Hi, hello, I also love rough 4x4, do you mean with caster angle?
@vladimirgalichenko54245 ай бұрын
Как человек водивший уаз скажу, что кастор не единственное что влияет на управляемость этого авто. Смешно то что ни Китай ни Россия не улучшили рулевой механизм.
@keithforbes84825 ай бұрын
Perhaps you are correct about loose steering linkages - however, an increase in castor is an essential first step towards corrective measures. If you tighten up the linkages without increasing the castor, the wandering problem absolutely does not go away. Please ask me how I know..@@vladimirgalichenko5424

Thank you for this one. I remember that I commented in another video of yours, and suggested you guys to have a go in this bad boy. But I really didn’t expect it to happen. However you did test it! It’s wonderful for everyone outside China to see it.

Nice episode love it!! ❤️ I used to drive a Toyota Tacoma off road back in the early 2000s and the suspension on those weren’t that great either. I’ve come to the conclusion that off-roading will always have that aspect of being shaken like a baby by a British nanny

My first car was a 42 Ford GPW Jeep. The suspension on it rode better on or off road better then that and it uses ancient technology but did have modern style tube shocks. and the flathead 4 only had 60hp so at least the engine has a lot more power. My guess is the suspension has been badly modified and the shocks are too hard plus the steering box and other components are worn out or it badly needs a alignment, but who knows, maybe it truly is that bad. I'd say try to find one with everything stock and see if it's any different. Looks like a Russian copy of a Toyota Land cruiser with extra door.

@tianshuruan90482 жыл бұрын
@@frankbasile3662 the biggest problem is the price. The new production jeep in that manner doesn't worth 10k dollars
@iiiii5256 Жыл бұрын
@@frankbasile3662 reliability man, build quality sucks and always something to go wrong. You have to constantly fuck around with it all the time and it keeps you busy. It's like the British sports cars of old, very characterful and fun but poorly built and always broken. But to make up for the poor reliability it is very cheap to buy, and parts are cheap also. It's also very simple to work on yourself and it is very characterful, it's like buying a new classic car in 2022. Plus this is more like a toy instead of transportation so reliability is not a big deal.

Interesting car, interesting history. I wouldn’t be surprised if this thing was overshadowed by western SUVs such as the land cruiser or the patrol of this era considering it was produced around Mao’s Great Leap backwards. China has come far thanks to western investment in the 80s - imagine the capabilities of the country without the shackles of a dictatorship. I hope ADV China make a video on the cars. Other than I love the Channel guys, would love to see more Chinese cars
@JasonC6832 жыл бұрын
china has come far exactly because it hasnt engaged in the "forever wars" like the US. America wasted trillions of dollars and achieved nothing. This car was produced 20 years after Mao's great leap, that was 50s and 60s, this is 80s and 90s.
@thanglian72 жыл бұрын
@@JasonC683 Based on his previous comments. He's a troll.
@highland962 жыл бұрын
@@JasonC683 I think you missed the point where Wheelsboy mentioned production of the SUV began in 1965 - when wumaos are faced with criticism of their oppressive government, they often forget or ignore facts. Considering the effects of Communist regimes and using the death toll of the Great Leap Backwards which was 15 - 55 million, I would understand why Western powers would want to stop the spread of the ideology. Besides despite engaging in forever wars because of despotic regimes, Western powers produced vehicles that where bought by the world. Hopefully, the same can happen with Chinese cars just without the CCP. The CCP hindered China's production with the Great Leap Backwards but Western investment pulled China out of poverty the CCP put it in.

@@highland96 wow, with a total population of 400 million at the time you are accusing our gov simply wiped out more than 10% of the population at ease? You did realize the growth rate was still quite high at the time and the industrial indexes such as steel/electricity/petrol productions were even growing at a higher rate right?
@mingyuanliu22852 жыл бұрын
@@highland96 those ten years played a vital role in building the backbone of our country today. The following sino-us pacts in the 70s-80s were just exchanges of interest between each country. You'd be so damn wrong if you believe the west didn't get ludicrous profit out of it.
